okay i was wondering about his one question..how do u prove to colleges of what u did during the summer???? for me my situation is that i go back to china every summer to see my family. while i'm there i am a personal english tutor for 1 high school/college kid each time.(the way we do it is very informal, nothing can prove itXx, i usually stand out on the street with a sign to advertize..) but it's not a breeze, it's 4 days per week for 4 hrs per day. and also i intern at this big company that i will get a certificate of some kind for. SO i don't know if i just put these experiences i had down and that's it or do i also send in something that actually proves i did those..?? especially since i've done those in a different country....but i thought maybe i have to put someone's phone number so they can contact or what?! but also if i put the company's number and some random assistant answers the phone they might not know what the hell's going on-__- since they speak chinese.... so i really don't know how i'm suppose to do that-/

also another question..do most people take both the sat and the act or just one of them? if all i need is one of them then why am i studying for two?!X_x do some colleges require both..?
THANX ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!^^

No, you don't need proof...the adcoms are gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you actually did the things you said. If they need something, they will contact you.

ohh really..=O wow someone told me that but i found it hard to believe-/ i just didnt want them to call straight to china and have those assistants in the company not know what they were talking aboutX_x thanx

but i think i've read somewhere that they actually randomly pick someone to check=/ dunno if it's true or not..(i mean i've done the things i listed but just hope they believe me cuz they were all done while i was in another country..)

jesus freakin christ, calm down...you seriously seem like you drank a few too many cups of coffee!

it is good you worked in china, provide the adcoms with a phone number...they will probably not call it. if they hear chinese on the other line, don't worry about it, they'll take care of it.

colleges generally don't require both the SAT and the ACT. if you are in the midwest and most schools you apply to take the ACT only, then take the ACT. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend the SAT.

and calm down! no need to get so harried over decisions that are more than three or four months away! relax and think clearly.

if you're honest, then you have nothing to worry about. good guys don't always finish last =D (haha does this quote apply?!?!?!?)

don't worry =) i do many of the same things you have done and i'm not freaking out lol. stop trying to verify what you did to the colleges =) just be glad and thankful you did them.. (I LOVE MY VOLUNTEERING!! don't you get so touched when the students are Seriously looking up to you.. ? =) i'm going back again this year to visit and teach my darlings!)

ohh thanx guys, so do most people take both the act and sat though? or just one of them. i just took both but not sure why i took both of them if i needed only one..
