Please need advice!!!! urgent :(

Hi, I have posted this earlier. I know I am not supposed to turn it in this late. But I was trying to get last minute thoughts on my essays and had to send them late. But I really need to know if this is ok. I am from pacific time. And the common apps, I believe, goes by eastern time. On the checklist the submit date is 1/2. But technically, for me, its still January First! I would really appreciate an explanation.

srry, it goes by eastern time... don't know how it will affect you though, but you did submit it on 1/2

are you sure? I didn't know. ...omg........

I really don't know what to tell people about submitting late. My gut feel is that they would overlook a few minutes, but I can't say for sure. Certainly no college requires that the transcripts, recs, and test scores have to be there by the deadline. If you paid the application fee, then it might be more likely they will overlook it since they would have to refund the money otherwise.

ok, but isn't it legal that they use my time zone? They never said anything about time zones in the common apps....I really didn't know about it.

thats why you don't apply last minute - they might overlook it - but realize that college will know your procrastinated and don't really care if you took the risk

I am sure your school mentioned it somewhere. Otherwise, it is pretty much common knowledge over here that times are eastern standard. I think that the times can be assumed. If you had a question, you should have asked.

Anyway, you know, if you're international, the same laws don't really apply. The whole different countries thing...

I doubt if you have a problem, but if you didn't wait until the last minute, then you wouldn't have to worry about whether or not to worry.

I realize I have done a very idiotic thing. And I wish you could give me a better answer. I really didn't know that eastern time was comon knowledge. I am very worried...and I hadn't thought about time differences.

I only realized i had this problem after I submitted my application.

Well, it's pretty much too late to do anything now. The chances are they'll accept it, but they might not, and they have no reason to accept it. They published a deadline, and it was being honored.

If you really want to, you can submit a letter with an explanation. I think you should just wait and hope they accept it, though.

It is fine, most schools accept applications even if they are a few days late. Don't sweat it.
