OK i really wanna go to cornell. My grades have had an upward trend since my freshman year. My overall grade is in the 90's. I have an excellent recommendation from someone who has sent many successful kids to the agricultural school before. My SAT scores are aight but nothing amazing. I have been working with animals since I was young though, and I am involved in many clubs and organizations, including 4-h. I spent last summer doing community service in a poor area, with a program through my religion. I do therapeutic horse back riding for the disabled on my weekends, and I have a full course load of all honors and AP, along with music classes.

Are my chances still OK? Or do my not good, but not bad SAT scores cancel me out??????

lets say like a 690 math and a 570 verbal and a 700 written. top 25%. I am in the top classes my school offers. All AP, Honors, and Supa(syracuse)
These aren't my sat scores, i haven't gotten them back. But lets say they were. Those are my fears and guesses though.

Those SAT scores won't get you into Cornell.
Retake it and get at least a 2100.

With that, you're definitely in . Your GPA is decent (since you say your average is in the 90's and have taken a challenging course-load), and your EC's are great! your work with animals could even get you into the higher Ivies, I must say. They demonstrate true passion and dedication. Definitely highlight this in your application!

But you must raise your SAT score. That's your only serious obstacle.

i was stuck with a 570 verbal score...get a book with practice tests and read at least one passage and answer the corresponding questions every night. I did that and my score shot up 60 points in just a couple weeks.
