hi. my SAT I and II (so far) are mediocre, 2080 (690 CR, 750 M, 640 W) and 720 (chem), respectively. i'm going to take IIC and Literature this Saturday. my volunteer effort is decent. i have 2 work experiences. i'm not a committed person in the extracurricular department (meaning sports and clubs). here's the main problem: my GPA SUCKKKKSSS!!

i have a 3.61 out of 4.29. this is the bitter portion of me speaking, but the kids who have above 4.1 GPA took easier courses, such as joke AP electives and CP classes. thus, they shafted me and others who have worked somewhat hard in all H and AP courses out of the top 10% range. i know my 3.61 is pretty *****ty, but that's cause i messed up a LOT in 2 math classes and 1 AP science class (i got 1 C- and 2 Cs).

my senior year grades are pretty decent.

AP Italian, A+
AP Physics, B
AP Calc AB, B
AP English Lit, B+ (friggin 89.1)

my guidance conselor won't let me send in my first mp grades of senior year to show how i've improved over the years and overcome certain personal adversities. he doesn't even advise putting somewhere in my apps that i had personal issues to cope with (like mom's poor health [pneumonia for 3+ months and misdiagnosis of lung cancer], my dysfunctional family, and DEEP, deep financial debts), but i really want to show the adcomms that i'm really not as dumb as my grades show..

question 1. how do you think i should show adcomms my improvement?
question 2. do you think i have somewhat of a shot?

i know many of you will read this thread without the intention of replying, since i just sound like a crybaby. but PLEASE, i'm really freaking out over this. friends are just telling me the same generic responses, but it's only 'cause they're friends. i need the input of complete strangers.

so, if possible, please reply a post pertaining to the 2 addressed questions above.

thanks. =
