I'm a junior, and this is only a list of the things that I've been very active in, no random little awards.
Please, tell me what you think.

Volunteer- my Congressman's re-election campaign. About 15 hours per week since spring of my freshman year.

Volunteer- Children's Theatre nearly 400 hours every summer since the one before my freshman year as a camp councilor, plus I've been in several huge Musicals and had leads in two of them. The theatre has a lot of economically disadvantaged kids, and has never not allowed a kid to participate because of finance.

Debate Team- 2nd alternate for Nationals last year, very likely to qualify this year, participant since freshman year.

Cheerleading- Varsity sophomore and will be senior year, and JV Freshman year. Couldn't be on the varsity squad this year because I was in a program during my fall semester.

Tennis- Varsity sophomore and junior year, plan to continue as a senior.

Work Experience

House Page- requires a congressional nomination and an appointment by the speaker of the house. worked on the floor of the house of reps. lived in DC alone for 6 months, July-January. There were 70 of us in what was supposed to be a month long program this summer, but I was asked to stay for an additional semester. I also had some pretty specific and not easy to get jobs among the pages.

State High School Coordinator- Students for Barack Obama- Basically, I will organize clubs at high schools across my state, help kids find ways to get involved with the campaign, and get high school seniors out to vote. There's only one per state.

Various other awards for art, and academic stuff. tons of non-national debate wins, and speaking awards.

I'm just wondering how I stack up.

Thanks!

Pretty darn impressive.

what you listed is not humanly possible.

Sports should be everyday after school and debate is also everyday afterschool, in addition to tons of prep work.

debate at my school is a class.
I don't play tennis during cheer season, only second semester.
Each are 3 days a week.

oh, and as far as debate goes, I do student congress and public forum, which require slightly less prep. I work on congress on my own time, at night, and pf with my partner and coach, but we do that on weekends or in the evenings. He plays basketball.

Hey, you're a high school state director for Obama? Me too! =D

Hear you at the call this wednesday! After we dominate the Potomac Primary in a landslide =)

haha, Obama 08!

I don't understand any sort of fondness for hillary that people have.

I don't either. Then again, I am a Republican.

^^^ GOP all the way.

wat nfl event are u an alternate in

um, our qualifiers are the last weekend in February, so I don't know about this year.
Last year (sophomore year) student congress.

P.S.- how do you have time to breathe?

Maybe because Hillary has a proven voting record?

Just a thought.

classic3020,
I actually like McCain, I'd vote for him over hillary any day.
And, it's not all that much, I'm a pretty good time budgeter, I suppose. And my time spent with friends who aren't in the same EC's as moi is rather minimal.

Hungarian,
I think Hillary's a very good senator, actually. However, I also think that she should stay there. ;-)

Hannah,

I think Obama has the capability of being a very good Sentator. Like you, I was a leg intern for Senator Kerry this summer, so I had the opportunity of meeting with him and watching him orate on the Senate floor. However, I also think he should stay there for 8 more years and develop his positions. What an invincible candidate he would be then. How could you vote for McCain after supporting Obama? Please, do not answer that. There can be no rationality behind that statement.

haha, it would be in a lesser of two evils situation.
I just don't want hillary to be president.

Plus, the whole Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton thing really bothers me, far more than it should.

I'd love it if had worked out with Obama running in '12 for the first time, but the that's not the way the chips fell.

Haha, we're on an incredible tangent.

I know really...It took one clinton (one of the best Presidents in the history of our nation, a terrible husband) to clean up after the first bush...fill in the rest. Look, I am eager to support a Democrat in this election, Barack, Hillary, or even Mike Gravel. I think we are forgetting this because we are bringing ourselves down to the bitter games of partisan politics of the republicans. I just see it a little bit differently than do you...and that is totally fine.

When were you a page? I wonder if we met.

I was a page last semester and this summer in July. I worked in the cloakroom during the semester, and as a runner during the sumer. (You were house or senate?)

And, Bill Clinton is my favorite president. Left office with an 85% approval rating. Best of any post-WWII president. By about 40 points, haha.
