(Please Read About to Submit SIR) Kenan-Flagler Assured Admit Chances of Being Kicked Out of Program

Hey all,
I’m really interested in the Kenan-Flager business program and is currently one of my top choices. Lol I got in with a 30 ACT as an overrepresented minority OOS and was just wondering how hard is it to get a 3.25 the first two years with the liberal arts “core program”. Is their a lot of grade inflation or deflation because I heard that UNC started to have contextualized transcripts that compare me to other students in the class. Of course, I will try my best but don’t want to get kicked out of it as well but the transition to college especially to another region might be harder for me.

Mainly I just wanted to ask UNC students if you ever had a personal account or friend’s account of being kicked out of the Assured Admission program at KF. Or if anybody heard what happened to one if one got kicked out. Or the percentage of people who can’t make it.

I might seem unconfident through this pessimistic message but I mainly want to maximize ROI especially as an OOS student who has gotten into the state flagships of CA but find it hard to transfer to a business school like Haas.

Thanks in advance!

You should have no problem maintaining that GPA if you work even moderately hard. A 30 ACT means that you’re intelligent enough to get just about any GPA you want if you work hard for it, so it is all up to your work ethic. The regional change did not in any way inhibit my ability to get a high GPA. I have never heard of a pre-admit falling below that cutoff. It would be smart to take advantage of the assured admission program at KF… They don’t just hand those out. Haas is extremely difficult to transfer into, so I could say your expected ROI would be higher at KF for sure. It’s a fantastic program, and, as an OOS student in the program, I highly recommend.

Thank you so much @JWonder4 I am a little more relieved now. May I ask you what did you do the first two years before transferring into the KF program? I know there are some courses and additional advising specifically for the KF students but I was wondering what did you do in terms of courses your first two years. Like what GE courses did you take and how many did you have to take? How long also? And if you apply for an internship for your first two years, what would you put down as your major, say on a resume or Linkedin account? Essentially I want to see what a sample KF admit like you schedule looks like, maybe you could PM me yours if possible? Just want to take a look because I am confused about UNC’s “connections” program.
