My essay is up about 20 words, please help me decide what to cut off.

As my first two years in high-school drew to a close, my report cards exposed to me something I had never witnessed before; I was merely an average student in science. My first two years were assailed by difficult honors science classes resulting in three Cs over four semesters. Although they were simply grades, I dreaded performing so poorly in any subject and I vowed to myself that I would somehow recuperate.
I arrived at an idea during the summer that I deemed was necessary to erase the haunting Cs in Chemistry and Biology. I decided to take AP Chemistry my junior year, even after meeting opposition from my counselor and previous Chemistry teacher. In order for self-assurance that I would do well in the class next semester, I spent much of my summer reviewing past chemistry notes and books. I worked very diligently in AP Chemistry and at the end of the year I was rewarded with not a C, but rather an A.

This further encouraged me to endeavor into the realm of AP Biology in my senior year, which is presently going very successful. I understand that setbacks will come up in my life, but it is imperative to never let them impel me from succeeding. I will always do the best I can through strong willpower and drive.
