Can I get into any of these places, and if not, any other suggestions?

I'm so sorry to repost, but I forgot to mention I'm ranked 7th in the State in my 500 freestyle (swimming). It's a 5:03, if that helps.

Have you looked at George Washington or American? They have excellent PoliSci programs as well.

does that mean i can't get into any of the above mentioned

yes, i have, and thank you for mentioning them

Are you in or out of state for Berkeley? OOS admission would be very unlikely. You could possibly get into the others, but don't count on it. Prepare a backup list.

Your swimming times are clearly amazing - try to get recruited. Raise that SAT - I know you can - one of my friends got a 2400 on his... 5th take (lol)... but he took twice in middle school and once in 10th grade.

With higher scores, you should get into at least one of your schools. But I would suggest more safeties in any case....

leaderman1990:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB: Match

"1. does that mean i can't get into any of the above mentioned
2. yes, i have, and thank you for mentioning them"

i think that you have a good chance to getting into your schools. nevertheless, you should have a few backups. with your stats you might be able to snag some merit scholarships at american/gw.

Well i cant really assume whats going to happen.....BUt..i think u have a good chance.

I'm not a resident of California. Will that hurt me?

It will seriously hurt your chances at Berkeley.

For Berkeley, the first thing they look at is your state residency. In my opinion, they probably take care of all the California residents first, and then look at the out-of-state applicants if they have any space left...

leaderman1990:

UCB: Slight Reach (out of state)

I second the UCB being a slight reach. Also, you should definitely try to get recruited, it will improve your chances. Good Luck :)

can anyone give me like a play-by-play?
Like:
Brown: reach
Yale: reach
UCB: match
etc.
????

Ok. Um... you expected me to say hi. so... hi.

Wait. This was supposed to be like... real input. Whatever. I'm bad at the whole online forum thing. So. Yale... way to pretentious. And... NORTHWESTERN?!?

ucb is a reach now that u arent a resident
although u should stil apply

i think you do have a pretty good chance at NWestern and Gtown
but thats it

ide say also apply to brown and cornell
but yale might be a waste of time (unless ur a recruited athlete)

try other good schools though...
ones like JHU
NYU
and other schools of those levels

like im not sure how their polysci progrqams are but u get what im sayin

Can anyone tell me anything else?
:)

Brown University - reach
Yale University - uber reach
Georgetown University - slight reach - go for it u have a good chance
Northwestern University - reach
UC Berkeley - slight reach
Cornell University - slight reach
