I'm a junior, and I already know a bunch of schools I want to apply to. However, I don't really have any safety schools on my list other than Rutgers. It'd be awesome if you guys could suggest some for me. :) I'd like to either stay in the northeast or go to California, and a good economics program is a must. Financial aid is very important, so unfortunately, state universities other than Rutgers are probably out of the picture.

There are some factors I am against, but other good factors can counterbalance them so I won't bother talking about them.

GPA: 4.5
Class Rank: 2 out of 200
SAT Reasoning: 2400
SAT Subjects: Biology 720, Literature 780, going to take Math Lvl2 + maybe others that correspond to AP exams I already have to take
Location: NJ
Extracurricular Activities: Mock trial (lead attorney), Academic Decathlon, Art club (project manager), Biology club, staff for school literary magazine

I'm 95% sure I'm applying to MIT, Harvard, Rutgers, and Princeton, and while I am also considering a few other schools, I'd like some suggestions for safety/match schools! Thanks in advance for the help. :D

^^ Thank you, I will check those schools out. :D

^ I took it & got 219, which is no guarantee for semi-finalist in NJ. Thank you for the tip, though, I will keep that in mind on the off chance I actually make semi-finalist. =)

A lot of schools are going to be fawning over a student with 2400 SATs. Look into schools with top-level merit scholarships, like Duke, Wash U and U of C. While you've said you want to stay on the coasts, there is a lot of opportunity in the land between; you shouldn't rule out a good school with a generous scholarship because of its location.
