please tell me about gregory house!

So here's the deal- i was recently accepted as a junior transfer to penn and i just found out my housing assignment which is on 2nd floor gregory. That was at the bottom of my housing preference list and to be honest, i really dont want to live there at all since ive heard and read that it's kind of an antisocial house.

I just dont think id fit in at gregory but then again i dont know the dorm well at all, im just basing this off hearsay and looking at the gregory house fb group so i am asking for two things:

please gimme some info on gregory and what its residents are like, whether positive or negative i just wanna know more

lemme know what i can do if i dont want to live at gregory - what other housing options do i have? switching rooms, calling the housing office to request a move....? i really dont wanna live off campus on my first year at penn.

thanks so much guys, i really appreciate any help you can give me.

Wow I just talked to my friend about Gregory today since she lived there last year.

The rooms are really nice, that’s for sure. As for antisocial though, it definitely kind of is that. People in the halls don’t get that close and whatnot, so that’s a downside. My friend is super nice though, so I’m sure people there aren’t like awful or anything, haha.

Are you a guy or a girl? Sorry this may seem irrelevant, but if you’re a girl, I could maybe help you.

I am actually gonna be living on the 2nd floor at Gregory next year.

As for the rooms, Gregory isn’t exactly the newest dorm. The Quad and the High Rises would definitely look newer from the inside. Gregory, however, has some pretty big rooms (especially the large ones in the 4 bedroom quad suites).

I didn’t live in it this past year, but my suitemates for next year have and they all seemed to have liked it. I got the feeling that Gregory actually has ton of activities for the House as compared to the other ones. I don’t know whether you would classify it as being anti-social, but I suppose it is isolated in a sense by not being terribly big.
