Bunch of darn rich kids if they could get an internship with the pres of BMW, and could afford to fly to South Africa. Also, Olympic training ain't cheap. It requires dedication, effort, and most importantly, enough money to ensure that doing a incomeless sport for a living won't starve you.

Lol, ecs are the most overblown thing since Bill Clinton. Really, there are like the 5th or 6th thing colleges look at, if at all. And no one interns with the president of BMW. The mytical aura of Harvard seems to overblow the nature of its competitiveness; most people are "mediocre" in their accomplishments, even (and especially) at Harvard.

well, i definitely have never interned w/ the prez of any company....but can you suggest any schools that have a really good math program(along with a good liberal arts side)?? ....
btw...thanks for the honest appraisal...i appreciate it..only 24 days left(or so)...

Ok, so I maybe I overexaggerated with some of the ecs, but truth of the matter is, they have to be amazing. I know some students who have interned with the Detroit Pistons for business, and another went to Italy and interned with Versace for fashion design, another at Betsey Johnson.

any colleges that have good math programs...that aren't stretches...??

you have a good shot but no great hook

what about Texas A&M???

Yale(EA)- no
Princeton-no
Cornell-yes
Georgetown-yes
Davidson-yes
Georgia Tech-yes

is it true that Yale and Princeton interviews dont count at all??? that would suck...

Yale, Princeton: crapshoot (in other words, reach)
Cornell: High match
I can't evaluate Georgetown nor Davidson because I know nothing about either.
Georgia Tech-high safety

Your recs and essays have to be compelling in order to get into Yale or Princeton. What makes you quirky?

I'm possibly the most happy person in my school...by that I mean cheerful...I think that definitely came through in my recommendations...however, both my essays were really serious(my second one made my lit teacher cry...i know i felt bad)

good for everything except for yale/princeton...it doesn't really matter who you are because their admit rates are around 10% and there are 2000 others just like you.........make sure that your essays show a unique and strong personality and you'd be a very strong candidate for those two. Cornell could be a high match/slight reach...it is an ivy...

Yale and Princeton are always Reaches but you should have a pretty good chance at the others.

do you think that I will be able to get the Davidson Belk scholarship??

anyone....??

wow, really good chances! I know someone who got the Belk and your stats are better than that person's

How are you the happiest in your school if you are this worried about your stats? This page has been perpetuated to three pages by your frantic efforts.

Just curious.

Don't worry so much about getting into Princeton or Yale... you will do just as well at the other schools, but as a plus you won't turn elitist and think you're better than ppl just because of the college you went to. That's the kind of conception that gets perpetuated year after year and it misleads so many ppl into thinking that princeton/yale are the best schools...

Good question....by happy, I am unfailingly cheerful and friendly....actually I was never really worried about college until I came onto to this website and looked at the stats of all these other marvelously qualified (more so that I) people. While I worry inside, I try to cheer up other people because it is, to me, very cruel to deflect ones own negative emotions on others
like the ppl who when someone says hello just nod in a dejected manner
very disheartening to the person who said hello
.
I hope that kind of made sense
also, a lot of my parents uhh worries have been passed onto me
.lol
