I was filling out the Brown University supplement, and while choosing which registration I’m going to do, I came upon this:
Regular Decision to Brown University and the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME)

what is the difference between just Regular Decision to Brown University? What’s the advantage of PLME if I want to go into medicine in the future? Any help would be appreciated :D

PLME is probably one of the toughest programs in the U.S. to get into.

They accept like <100 people and only 20-30 I think actually go into the program? It is a rigorous 8 year program which guarantees you admittance into Brown Med School unless you screw up…which most people do not.

Regular Decision for Brown is well…regular decision.

Wait, so applying to PLME means IF i do get accepted, I would go to 8 years of undergraduate and then another 4 years of graduate? or just 8 years in general, including the undergrad and grad?

any stats on acceptance for international student?

Yar…if you get accepted, it is 8 years of school. Brown Undergrad + Brown Med School.

And I’m guessing Internationally…you’re probably looking at around <20 getting in. That is just a guess, I’m sure they have statistics on their website.

Good luck. Its extremely extremely extremely intense.

trends show that if you apply for both and are not accepted into PLME, you are less likely to get into Brown than if you just apply to Brown and not PLME
