<p>This may be stupid question but i am trying to get a better idea of PLME. When you graduate, what type of doctor are you? If you wanted to be a surgeon would you have to go back for more school or is there a point in the PLME program where you decide what type of doctor you intend to be? </p>

<p>Also, is residency included into those 8 years?</p>

<p>I think u end up focusing more in one area in med school (could be wronnngg) but you definitely do some focusing during ur residency. residencies are not included in the 8 years. its four undergrad, four med.</p>
