Plsss assess me!

Hi,
So I would be really thankful if someone could assess my profile and tell me what colleges are mostly in my range. I have absolutely no idea what colleges are in my reach, so if someone could please read through my profile given below and kind of give me a rough idea, I would appreciate it.

To start off with, I am a junior in high school…
SAT Score (my 1st time…I will be taking it again and aiming for roughly 2100): 1920
ACT Score: (will be taking in spring) and aiming for a 33-34

Weighted GPA (uptil 10th grade): 3.9
I have taken all Honors classes and 1 AP (BIO) my junior year. I plan on taking 3-4 more APs my senior year. (My school hardly offers any AP courses)
Generally I get in the range of a B to an A- in my classes.

I am interested in biotech/biomed/anything bio and engineering related.
I plan to take Bio Subject SAT and a math subject SAT…possibly 1 more not sure what yet

I am an active member in science groups at school.
I am in NHS (national honors society)
I have volunteered for over 250 hours including fundraisers and all
I also have a part time job
I do Track and Field along with Cross Country
And I do many more volunteer things
I’m also part of choir groups at school (and plan on being in the Music Volunteer Group (which gives me around 50-100 hours) at school my senior year)

So, yeah that’s basically my general profile. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please give me honest feedback!!

Thank you once again.

Run the Supermatch engine on the left side of this page

What is your unweighted GPA?
How much can your family afford to pay (get a number)?
What is your Home State?

If you plan to go the Engineering/STEM route, take Math 2 Subject test not Math 1.
You will not be penalized for taking only a few AP’s since your school only offers a few of these classes.
If you want to challenge yourself, consider taking a class during the summer at your CC but make sure it is transferable to any colleges of interest.

Until you answer some of the above questions, unable to make any recommendations

Unweighted GPA and class rank?

Give us a little more to work with, please. What region of the country are you from? What are your interests, both academic and extracurricular? Are you interested in staying close to home or getting away? How much support do you hope your parents, teachers, and advisers to provide in terms of setting up visits, pushing you with applications, etc.? Will you need financial aid? Have your parents indicated that they will pay whatever is needed?

-UW GPA?
-Budget?
-Geographic preferences?

My unweighted gpa is around a 3.5…budget probably around $20-30,000. And I live in MA(my geographic preference is to stay in MA or somewhere in New England maybe 240 mile radius)

You’d have more options if you consider other areas the country. These schools are in the north-east or mid-atlantic regions. I’m not sure what your income is, so run the NPCs.

-Boston University
-Drexel University
-Lehigh University
-New Jersey Institute of Technology
-Polytechnic Institute of New York
-Rochester Institute of Technology
-Stevens Institute of Technology
-Temple University
-University of the Sciences
-Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Consider SUNYs as well, since tuitions aren’t extremely high, even for out-of-state students.

What about MA state schools like UMass Amherest/Dartmouth/Boston? And also what about UPenn, Rutgers and Northeastern? What are my chances at those schools?

You would undoubtedly be a reach at Amherst, Dartmouth and Penn. Use the Chance forum for those types of questions.

OP is asking about UMass Amherst, UMass Dartmouth and UMass Boston, not Amherst and Dartmouth.

OP, try the SuperMatch tool on the left. Use your current SAT score.

Thanks. I misread that, particularly with Penn being thrown in.

That’s fine! So, what do you think chances are for UMass Amherst and UPenn?

And also, for Rutgers and Northeastern?

Until you have high scores, you should consider colleges given the scores you do have.

I agree with @lostaccount. I never know what posters really mean when they say they are “aiming” for a higher test score. I can see anticipating a higher score based on intensive prep work and subsequent self testing, but without an explanation of why you think your SAT score will rise by almost 200 points, “aiming” sounds an awful lot like “hoping”, and neither is useful in thinking about what colleges you’re qualified for.

With your budget UMass at Amherst makes the most sense if you want to stay in the area. I would imagine you have a good shot at getting in.

So hands down not a chance at UPenn
