<p>I received confirmation that I am a semi-finalist late saturday night. I hope I become a finalist but if I do then I have to tell my mom...not sure how that'll turn out.</p>
<p>miadust, thats so awesome! i started an application but never finished because you have to submit a FAFSA and my parents refuse to fill one out. im out to my parents and they're supportive, but i can imagine some tension if your mom doesnt already know! maybe the thought of $40,000 will soothe her!</p>
<p>inspiration08--i don't think you need to submit the FAFSA unless you're a finalist.</p>

goshh i haven't heard anything yet. I submitted mine one day before March 1. They said that you should have been contacted by today, March 7. I guess I'm not it then :(</p>

<p>Thanks for the congrats. :) Yeah, FAFSA is something you only have to submit if you're a finalist but I hope they don't only base it on that - my social security (untaxed income) makes my EFC extremely high.</p>
<p>They only require your transcript, recs, and a resume for semi-finalists.</p>

And yeah, i dont think i’ll be telling my parents about this… the whole was reason for applying was because im a successful gay youth that has been marginalized by his own family… I was also wondering about the phone call. How will they contact me? I only have a house phone</p>
<p>To those who made it to the finals for the Point Scholarship in the past, did all of you undergo the phone interview? Any insight as to the questions one should expect?</p>

<p>I am a semi finalist. I could not locate my PIN number to write on the application so I just put my name. Do you think I would be disqualified for that minor infraction?</p>
