I applied too, just got the go ahead to send my transcripts and recs for the semifinals stage 
it’s nice to see some fellow applicants! LGBTQ students seem to be pretty quiet on CC.

@mech423 @Rougarou were you notified/updated about the phone interview? I’m assuming I didn’t get it because the interviews are in like a week…
From the email - “Semifinalists who receive phone interviews will be notified beginning March 14, 2016 on a rolling basis via email or a phone call to schedule a time.” I understood that as they start notifying us next week, not that the interviews start next week. At least that’s what I’m hoping to make myself feel better, haha
Ohhh, okay. I was reading the website, which had slightly different wording. I really hope I’m a finalist… But also I don’t know if I’m ready for the “Hey parents let’s go to LA so I can interview for this scholarship because I’m gay and do lots of Gay Stuff that I hid from you for five years” conversation.
@pterosprite Yeah, even the email itself has different wording throughout. I looked at the website and it does seem like interviews themselves start next week. But I’ve heard of people having phone interviews (for colleges, etc.) a couple days or hours after scheduling them. So there’s hope!
Has anyone been contacted about a phone interview? The suspense is killing me
I know we can be contacted until the 20th, but I still feel like I’m not going to get it because it’s already Wednesday

this is the second year that I have been a Semifinalist.
I’m beginning to think that they haven’t notified anyone yet, because no one has posted about it on social media one way or the other
My daughter got notified of a phone interview on Sunday 3/20 and the interview was on Monday 3/21. She said it went ok, but was really nervous. They told her they would notify anyone who makes it to the next round by 3/22.
She was notified on 3/20??
Ah I forgot about this thread! I actually got a phone interview. They contacted me 3/12 and I had my interview 3/15. They said there were over 2,200 applicants this year and only 80 people got phone interviews. I think they’ll notify next week who’s going on to finalist round.

@mech423 hmmm that’s weird, I thought they weren’t supposed to contact us until the 14th? Congrats though, that’s awesome!
@itme1234 Thank you! I really have no idea about dates. They haven’t been very clear about those so far, so I guess I’ll just be checking my email every 10 minutes!
