Is it terrible that my salutatorian speech for tomorrow is about Pokemon!?

Nah…go 90’s!

Yeah lol

haha, I find that entertaining. as long as it isn’t totally ■■■■■■■■, go for it. (:

My reasoning was this - our school is… really clique-y, and NOBODY has shared the same experiences really in high school. Really. I’ve only even met like 1/4 of our graduating class, because those are the only people in my classes. The only experience I have with the other people is when they’re walking really slowly down the hallway and blocking my path, or when they’re at football games (but I am NOT talking about football in my speech. lol.), stuff like that. But srsly, EVVVVVVVERYONE can relate to pokemon! Hahahaahha. I don’t believe it is “totally ■■■■■■■■” at all, though I feel like it could’ve easily ended up that way.
And I’m not just… randomly talking about pokemon, lol, I’m making it relevant.
(oh, and great, now that I’m practically done writing it, I came across a pokemon grad speech on youtube. great. it’s feeling pretty similar to mine… argh. I will have to change it a bit)

haha, well, have fun!

I sure hope my school’s sal/val talk about fun stuff, too. ;D

LOL. I just know that our val is taking it… pretty seriously and I don’t want my speech to be anything like hers really - not that hers isn’t good, I just don’t want it to be repetitive right after mine. - plus I’m considering ending with a “And now for something completely different!” soooo.

I hope the speaches this year are decent. Last year there was one good one. (We don’t have val/sal’s.) It’s bad enough I play tuba on Pomp and Circumstance. It’s horribly boring. Crappy speaches make it ten times worse.

Yeah, I was either going to go for increeeeeeedibly short or else at least funny, lol, because otherwise I don’t want to bore everyone to death.

I would listen to a speech about pokemon.

“I gotta be the very best, like no one ever was…”

I wish I could just play this video for my speech.

^ Haha, that would be awesome as a speech. You’ll do fine though. You should post it so we can all revel in its amazingness.

It’s already been done.

Heh, I just reread your post, and was that the video you were referring to? That was my HS the year before me.

I’m sure your speech will catch em all!

=p

“…to catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause”

As long as you recognize that Gyarados is the best Pokemon ever thought up and created, then the speech should be acceptable and entertaining.

…I,

…officially renounce all the previous somewhat lulz tensions between us.

I love you.

Be sure to put the video on Youtube after for the rest of us.

Yeah, that’s the video I saw… stupid too, because I’ve been planning a pokemon speech for quite a while now, and I only just saw [or even HEARD OF] this one after I was practically done with mine… argghghhh. I don’t want people to think that I’m copying this speech, but they are sorta similar… I mean there’s only so much you can say relating pokemon to hs/graduation/life/whatever.

Already did. :] I was going to take it out of the speech though, because if I recall correctly, the guy in the grad speech video mentioned Gyarados (though I disagree with him on pronunciation… lol.) and I want to keep them as dissimilar as possible.

Aw. Thanks.

If it goes well, I will. LOL.
