Pokemon!

Anybody else on CC a pokemon fan? I know I am. For me, pokemon is the way I live. After a decade of pokemon, I've realized pokemon isn't just an idea, it's a way of life. So, anyways, getting back on track, this thread is about my love of pokemon. Not specifically my love, but anyone's love. Let this thread be a common ground for those who wish to discuss the pokemon series. Whether it be video games, comics, or television, pokemon has always been popular.

So now, let the avid pokemon fanbase discussion begin!

POKEMON!

Getting Black and White when they come out.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs133.snc4/36964_1334597656155_1567472031_30843795_4955797_n.jpg

pretty much sums it up

^lol, but then some of them are so suggestive that I was too young to know.

Number 35. I don’t know. Come on, there was this thing on Cinnibar Island in Red/Blue that allowed you to get like infinite rare candies and I believe everyone did that just to beat the Elite Four.

I too am getting Black and White, but the pokemon look weirder and weirder as the Fifth generation pokemon are being revealed.

Btw, more new pokemon are released on serebii.net.

Sigh…I’m one of those people who thinks Pokemon is for kids. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED Pokemon.
I even downloaded emulators to play them back in the old days. I got all the way to Emerald and LEaf Green.

But I just stopped playing after Freshman/Sophomore year.

Now I’m into COD, Halo 4, Gears of War, Fable, God of War, etc. Hardcore Xbox games

Red, Yellow, and Blue versions were the ****.

F all the rest!!!

YES (see user name)
But I’m doubtful that I will buy Pokemon Black and White.

Anyone else in here a serious Pokemon gamer? I logged about 300 hours into both my Emerald and Platinum versions, and have about 150 on my SoulSilver. I frequent Smogon University a lot, and during the summer I get into the competitive scene. I’ve stuck with the games since I was a kid, and unlike the casuals who “outgrew” Pokemon after the first or second generation, I actually think the new games are a vast improvement upon the originals and offer a lot of positive contributions to the Pokemon experience. Sure, you can’t beat the nostalgia of the original 151, but it’s not like the originals are gone now.

^ I’m just like you. Hardcore Pokemon!

Yeah for me, I’m unsure if I’ll buy pokemon black or white, but still, pokemon is amazing! And @John117, you are right. I think I will stop playing pokemon after freshman/sophomore year, but luckily for me, I’m a rising 8th-grader, so I still have a long time for pokemon!

Starting kind of a new discussion, have any of you seen the design for the Nintendo 3DS? I saw it on nintendo’s website and it looks awesome! Besides the actual system, it’ll be awesome because of the games. They are re-releasing old console games (zelda ocarina of time, kingdom hearts, etc.), except this time, they’ll be on a handheld, and they’ll be in 3D!

I got Pokemon HeartGold yesterday. I’m finally reliving memories of when I was obsessed with Pokemon Gold as a young child.

MIThopeful16, do you have an account on Smogon/Shoddy? I don’t use mine very often. I’m more of a Battle Tower/Frontier type, but I still lurk the Smogon forums pretty frequently.

@PioneerJones Dang. A competitive battler. I would lose to you horribly. Moreover, I do agree about the new games being a vast improvement.

@MIThopeful16 I spent 469 hours and 45 min on Diamond, leveling up a bunch of my Pokemon to level 100.

@markalex1 The 3DS looks hella awesome. Since Black and White, Professor Layton, and some of the other nintendo games will be played on the 3DS, I will be buying it.

I honestly would have owned all of you in Pokemon. I was truly a Pokemon Master :)… but alas, those days are behind me.

i wish they reverted the series back to its original form with: Brock, Misty, and Ash, rather then the gayness which it has recently become.

I can’t even name all the pokemons’ anymore! when there would be the snippit “whos’ that pokemon” i would be able to instantly say, oh its articuno, bulbasuar, or ryhorn, but now they just look like blobs with no names to me.

I might have had one, I haven’t been to Smogon in forever. Shoddy I believe I have one as well, but I don’t remember. I think I clocked 500 hours on both diamond and platinum and pearl. Once I got all 150 on Red(Mew through the glitch, so I guess 151), I was the proudest dude in the world.

I played Ruby in 5th grade, but stopped then. But Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, and Yellow are still great games in my mind, even if I haven’t played them in forever. Nothing ed me off more than that rival who took the Pokemon with the element advantage over whatever you chose. That just crosses the line.

Lol I never had a problem with him. He was like cakework. Beating Red, however, was a task I put my time into. The first time, he raped me. 2nd time, It was such a freaking close match. My pokemon were near fainted and I snuck in one last blow.

Red was alright back then in Gold/Silver. The only thing that was a challenge for me in the past 4 generations was the Battle Frontier. I couldn’t get all of those badges in Emerald. I only managed to get 4, but they were only silver.

Emerald within the first 2 weeks I had 7 Gold badges. (I was a bit of a pokemon freak back then)
