Poli-Sci and History at NYU?

Hi guys, I am thinking about apply to NYU(CAS) for ED, but I heard people say that you don’t get to see your profs much and the TA teach everything. Is that true? Also how’s your politics and history departments? Thanks for any comment!!! :x

Hey! I’m currently a freshman in CAS. There are a few big lecture classes, mostly the intro ones (my International Politics class has 250 kids, and I know intro to micro/macroecon both end up with upwards of 400) but that’s the vast minority of the classes. Only 1% of classes have over 100 students, and 80% have 30 or less. A lot of the CAS core classes are bigger, but some (the freshman seminar and Writing the Essay, for example) have about 15 each. Once you clear your big prereqs, too, the vast majority of your classes will be small. Also, every professor teaches differently, but from what I’ve heard from peers/experienced myself the professor usually does teach almost 100% of the time, even in the big lecture classes.

I know very little about the history department, but I know that the politics department is fairly good and respected.
