Any transfers who are pre-political science/poli sci major get into UCLA from a CC. If so, what were your stats (GPA, etc.), and what do you think was the greatest strength on your application.

Did you complete TAP or not (Transfer Alliance Program)? You can also share if you got rejected.

So...

I transferred as a pre-poli sci major in 2002. GPA was 4.0.

What was good on my app? I dunno. I was TAP, so I just focused on other stuff. Maybe my completion of everything in a year? /shrug

I never thought about this stuff. You guys make me feel so...so...lazy.

I just got in as a poli-sci major. My GPA is around 3.3-3.5 and the only opportunity to stand out on the application are those 400 word paragraphs you write. I'm not sure if I was lucky or if I was normal.

nonfactor, im the same as you. my gpa was a little lower but i feel like i rocked my essays. could be luck, could be that gpa isnt as important as they say it is. dunno.

I transferred in as a pre-political science major just last year.

Cumulative GPA: 3.7X
Major GPA: 4.0
TAP: Did not do it.
Greatest strength on my app: I would have to guess my essay coupled with my work experience (I worked as an assistant at a law firm).
