Polishing new boots?

I dunno, I'm usually a 9, but sometimes bigger, and I got an 8 boot. I do suspect it's a bit snug with inserts, but I think that it's fine. I'm with the 'runs big' group.
I'm actually not using a gel insert, I'm using a cheapey random foam kind. It really doesn't do much besides crowd the shoe, so I'm considering taking them out. They just make it a smidge more comfortable, unless it's just a placebo- mental type thing..

Also, your feet swell during running or just general standing around.

Hey, I just got my boots! So, can anyone tell me what you do with the schoelaces? They're really long, even after you tie them. Is there any certain way to lace 'em up?

I wrap the laces around the middle 3 times... around the 3rd turn it turns into a nice tieable length

to get inserts or not, that is the question...anyone?

We got them at our local army/surplus store for $89. They ran true to size for us.

I really don't think inserts would hurt, just get some good ones.

Inserts have the potential to help... If you're getting ones thta hurt, you're defeating the purpose! ;)
