Political Club at school?

There is a Young Democrats Club at our school, and I was thinking of making a Young Republicans next year, but after reading some threads on this site I was wondering if making an all-inclusive debate club would be a better choice, or just making a debate club period. Im midly confused here, so any opinions could help.

I think that this really depends on how tolerant and mature people are at your school. At my school, the vast majority of people are Democrats. I don’t have anything against that, but I do not like how they act superior and disrespectful. They are really only tolerant of people who think like them. I have been mocked for supporting Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. However, I do have a few (4-5) friends who could form a great Republican club at school. If you feel that your school is similar one way or another, perhaps it would be better to simply make a Republican club, but it would obviously be more worthwhile and beneficial to everyone to have a debate club where everyone can voice their opinions.

If there’s already a Young Democrats club, why not make a Young Republicans Club? Maybe you can try to have the clubs debate each other on political issues a couple times a year, which would combine both of your ideas.

I go to a very liberal school, and recently, I joined a teenage republican club, and it is definitely gives me a break from all the pro-Hillary and Bernie things I hear at school. I definitely would advise the creation of it.

Some ideas you can do:
*Help Campaign for Republicans in Elections at Any Level
*Volunteer for your Local GOP
*Debate the Democrat Club (as stated before)
*Raise Money For Veterans

I feel like making a political debate club would get toxic fast. I don’t see anything wrong with making a Young Republicans Club. Maybe you could try contacting the leaders of the Young Democrats Club, to try to make sure there are no hostilities between the two clubs.

I feel like any debate club can get toxic pretty quickly, though @LeopardFire . I know that a lot of the debates I’ve participated in at school involved highly opinionated people. I feel like as long as their are rules (such as be respectful, etc.) it wouldn’t be that bad.
