Political Science 3: Tell me about it

how is this class? i hear it is very math based, but could someone elaborate a bit more on this point and on the content of the class?

thanks.

it's hell.

my friend described it as "polisci3 can DIE!"

Hell? This class is a joke. He has been describing the Z-test for the past month.

Ugh. It's a requirement for MOST poli sci majors.
I'm taking it during summer sessions.. get it over quickly.

some more specifics would be appreciated, though.

thanks.

tediousness

Does it bother anyone else that Sean uses 'N' instead of 'n' for sample size?

okay... i haven't actually gone to class on a while, but this is basically how it works.

the first half of the semester you spend a lot of time on the difference between causation and correlation then you do a problem set. Then you do game theory kind of stuff and Nash equilibrium (you can wiki this if you want to know more about it) and then another problem set. Around halfway through the semester there's a midterm. And then you talk about regression line and confidence intervals and actual math stuff in the last half of the semester.

All in all, the class really is tedious and I definitely do not enjoy it. At the same time, if you study and do well on the problem sets getting a B/A shouldn't be too difficult.
