Is it possible for one to major in international relations and to minor in political science? Or does it always have to be a major in political science (because it's broader and more generalized) and minor in international relations?

<p>This absolutely depends on the school you go to -- every school has different requirements and standards for majors and minors. Look on your school's website or course catelogue, or ask a dean or professor.</p>
<p>That said, I can't imagine why the broadness or specificity of a subject would preclude you from picking one or the other as a major / minor. The question is whether your school offers a major/minor in a given subject, not usually whether they would allow a specific combination.</p>
