political science or sociology? UCB

Hey I'm a sophomore from emory university applying to transfer to cal next fall. i have a gpa of 3.78...i came in undecided...but my transcript (apart from general education requirements) is full of english, political science and sociology classes. i've done well in these and it is sort of evident that my interest lies in these subjects (so the admissions committee won't think that i'm applying randomly to a major just to get in)...i haven't decided which one to pick as a major and a minor yet... my inclination is political science major and english minor.

my question is that for UCLA and Berkeley, which is an easy major to get into...with my statistics? (i have had a paid journalism internship with a leading newspaper, supplemental instructor for political science, Resident assistant, french club president, oxford review magazine editor)... bunch of stuff. i feel like i have a good enough profile to get in but i just want to get some advice on which major should i apply as? and once i get in, is it easy to switch around...from maybe poli sci to legal studies (emory doesn't have legal studies major)...?

thanks a lot

All are going to be tough. Check out the stats here… click on the major to see the pre-reqs.
ok…wow. that makes it a lot clearer. thanks a ton!

Once you actually get in, it is easy to switch around–especially in Letters & Science (the largest college w/in UCB). You are not even officially declared when you transfer into Berkeley–contrary to UCLA’s policies.
