How would you rate it on a scale of 1-10? What are some positive things about the food? How about some negative aspects?

2…

Positive: Sometimes it’s actually edible
Negative: Other times it’s not…

Crossroads: 2. Seriously horrible stuff.

Unit 3: 7. Consistently decent.

Foothill dining commons - 2 - They don’t have a lot of variety and they put too much spices in the waffle fries. The burgers are also pretty dry. I’ve been having the same meal for dinner every night now. The food is also overpriced. At Foothill, you pay for what you eat. It’s not like a buffet like crossroads is.

Crossroads - 4 - It’s okay. Some of the food is okay but some of it is horrible. At least they have more variety than Foothill does and doesn’t charge as much.

Crossroads: 3

I got food poisoning from the food there in my 3rd week of school. Not fun.

Cafe 3: 7

Always decent food. Usually bland but edible, and sometimes surprisingly good like the past few days.

crossroads-6
cafe 3- 8
foothill-1

terrible.

except for foothill late night. RIP foothill tater tots and chicken plates…

crossroads: 4
cafe 3: 5
CKC: 6
foothill: 2 (before they changed to a la carte only)

i love it. but i’m asian. so …

Seriously, the food isn’t that bad. People just have had too much “good food” in their lives. If you lived an affluent lifestyle with gourmet food everyday, you would find the food to be abhorrent. But if you lived off the high school free lunch programs (or something similar) or have a tolerance (and creativity) for a wide variety of dishes, the food can be special 6 out of 7 days.

are you guys serious? i hate cafe 3 soooooo much. theres only like 2 choices, both of which are usually terrible.

People like to come in with the mindset that dining commons food is supposed to suck. More importantly, people like to complain. Unless you have dietary restrictions, dining commons food is fine 7/7 days a week. Dining commons food has never gotten me sick (which is a huge plus) unlike the rating-less eateries around Berkeley. Avoid the obviously unhealthy foods or check the online menus, and you’ll be doing fine.

yes, Crossroads was luxury compared to the crappy high school lunch I used to eat. I was actually looking forward to it the first couple of weeks. But the food is so bland that you just get sick of it after awhile.

True that, JteH. I don’t get what people are complaining about. It’s pretty decent. But I’d have to say that Cafe 3 has dropped down in quality since last year. I think Crossroads is pretty good now. Haven’t been to foothill yet. What happened up there?

I feel like gbc’s bear muffin are definitely not as good as last years…I ordered one today and the guy didn’t even put egg in there… didn’t notice til later.

Yeah, I never understood why people complained so much about the DCs. I liked the DC food (especially the omelet bar during breakfast time at Crossroads). But then again, I was too busy my freshman year to even care about the quality of the food. As long as it didn’t make me sick (which it never did), I was fine. I was just happy to be fed.
Eat to live, not live to eat.

DCs have lots of unhealthy food, but they seem to advocate organic over healthy. The only good thing is you’ll get organic heart attacks later in your life, if that is any better.

i like the organic salad. + rice.
