Poll: Use of caffeine.

Did you ingest caffeine before taking the SAT/ACT? How did you do, and do you think caffeine played a part in your performance? If you did ingest caffeine, was it through a drink or a gum or pill? Simple poll :) I'm conducting a little study, so please answer truthfully.

No caffeine

No caffeine.

Nope, no caffeine. If you don't normally do it, don't do it on test day.

I think I drank some tea with breakfast and on the way there. that was it though.

No caffeine. Best thing is a banana in the morning though.

Yes, I drank a Monster 16 oz. original. I also ate a fruit salad with a banana and some hot tea. (BTW don't drink caffeine if you aren't use to it on test day...but IMO caffeine keeps you awake and motivated rather than lazy and sleepy...)

Took a Red Bull and some coffee. Let's just say it made me storm to the bathroom halfway through the test. It probably made a negative overall impact on my performance since I lost a lot of time on one of the sections.

I think I had some diet coke before the SAT, which I don't normally do...it might have made me do a smidge worse just because I was freaking out that it WOULD make me do worse. So meh.

cup of coffee, didn't know if it helped since i got my ass handed to me by essay + CR + CR

no caffeine...gum works better because caffeine makes you have to go to the bathroom and you dont want to waste time getting up to go. when you are chewing gum, it tricks your mind to think that you are "eating" so it releases more blood flow to the brain, giving your brain oxygen and the energy to think over the questions

Wouldn't your brain be tricked and send more blood to your stomach to digest the "food"??

One 16 oz full throttle right before the test, 1 16 oz full throttle right in the middle. Worked great.

Just a banana in the morning. :p I find that sleep, not caffeine works best. I did a really good job on my ACT (second try) after I had slept for about 12 hours straight. Bliss :)

Diet Pepsi = Small amount of caffine

If I drink a coffee then I feel just like jumping out of my seat and running away after 3 hours of sitting through hell

No caffeine, just a bowl of banana nut bran cereal for both my ACT and SAT first attempts. I was able to sit in virtually the same seat in the same room for each (though the chairs were changed 90 degrees in position) 35 +2400

big breakfast w/ SUGARFREE redbull....another one during first break...propel fitness water during the last break...nutragrain bars during both...gum throughout the actual test-taking.

Ha, I never drink caffeine.

I also don't sleep much, 2 hours before the ACT (I got a 36).

no caffeine just do it to it

no caffeine here either, just some normal breakfasts I assume. I don't remember.
