I’ve submitted an art supplement including my woodworking pieces and sketches as well, I hope to be an art major
Please let me know if I can reasonably expect to be accepted/rejected
If you get a great score on the art supplement, you have a decent chance of being admitted. Otherwise, your academic profile is a bit too low for Pomona: your ACT is at the bottom 25% of the enrolled student range, and the lack of 5’s on your APs might raise eyebrows.
Is there any way you could be a recruited for athletics?
No way on the athletics…and I don’t think I’ve reported my AP scores yet either
Do not listen to that guy! Follow your heart and try. You never know wat they want and you might be exactly it. Every year people get in with low scores, but if they are a good fit for Pomona, Pomona will know.
^^Agreed. If your heart is at Pomona, show it!
Pomona is a reach school for everyone. With that being said, not everyone who gets admitted has perfect scores and top notch extracurriculars. Submitting an arts supplement with the intention of majoring in art will definitely work in your favor! I know for a fact they barely have any art majors currently, and the admissions committee is always looking to diversify the new class in any way possible. The average ACT score for the admitted class of 2020 was 31, so I don’t think that’ll bring you down very much. And your grades are not bad at all! Not even close. Personally, I think high honor roll all four years is an achievement. Don’t doubt yourself. You got this!
I think you have a great shot! You didn’t mention your essays, but if they’re really good, I see you having a great chance.
That said, admission is weird and Pomona is very selective. But you’re def a strong applicant! Get an interview if you can.
