@Mike2237 giving up so easily? There’s the WL! @sanjosedad What was her essay about?
Is anyone going to the Admitted Students’ Day either April 7-10 or April 14-17?
@Mike2237, she wrote on Avatar:The Last Airbender and linking it to modern day imperialism on Native Americans from James Town settlement to South Dakota Pipeline etc. etc. etc., something beyond my creativity power I sent you the twitter link to you thru PM, CC doesn’t allow the link to be posted on this messaging board.
My D and us be driving down south from bay area tp attend Admitted S. Day. But the program is only on Apr 9th, Monday. We be arriving on Apr 8th Sunday. After registration on Sunday, she will meet her host student and will spend the day and do overnight stay with the host. She will rejoin us on Monday morning for the main program.
Have fun @sanjosedad They treat the parents to a wonderful lunch where you get to meet faculty and administration. They really pull out all the stops. Everything but champagne provided. Don’t miss it.
@preppedparent @sanjosedad Maybe I should go with our son
@preppedparent I was WL’d at Pomona and would love to get off the WL since it’s my first choice. Any tips as to how I could get off the WL would be incredibly appreciated (I would send you a PM but I’m a new member so I can’t :/)
@labrelum. I sent you a PM
@labrelum my D is also on the waitlist and it is her first choice school as well. If you have time we would appreciate any advice as well.
@preppedparent - please see the previous message. I accidentally tagged @labrelum (sorry!) instead of you and didn’t notice it until this morning. Would love some tips regarding getting off the waitlist. Thanks!
@preppedparent I would also appreciate any advice you have specific to the Pomona waitlist. Thank you!
I PM’d you.
@preppedparent wanted to say thank you for the helpful advice. My D, who was on the waitlist, was called today by an admissions officer and offered a place in the class of 2022! We feel so grateful. She is so thrilled and so am I. Good luck to anyone still waiting.
Congrats @caspiancat to you and your daughter! That’s fantastic. Fingers crossed for everyone else. Chirp.
Just got a call from my admissions officer and I was admitted off the waitlist! I’m thrilled and now I have to decide between Pomona and University of British Columbia 0:
Congrats @SienaRose! Hoping for the rest of the CC waiting list group! Chirp Chirp.
@SienaRose Come to Pomona!!! Congratulations to everyone who got in- join the Pomona Class of 2022 Facebook page if you haven’t already and introduce yourself
(moved to waitlist thread)
S currently a recruited athlete at P-P. Would love to hear further insights and/or outcomes of the follow-up push into Pomona admissions, ie, letters, interview, coaches going back on S behalf, etc. S pre-read iffy (1 Semester on Transcript w C+), otherside solid in range as is SAT in mid-upper %. Very good athlete, near D1.
Would love to learn update/outcome of your Pomona journey-admit, attend, etc. S is a recruited TF athlete now w P-P, and have a feeling Pomona pre-read May be iffy. High SATs, A- GPA, albeit rigorous, top 10 HS, otherwise well-rounded. In particular, if you’ve learned anything more on PAR use on such an athlete. Were you a top XC prospect?
