<p>Very interesting piece in NYTime's blog "The Choice" on the development and standardization of the Common Application. It's interesting to see how the whole college admissions process, from learning about schools to getting admissions decisions, has transformed as it's moved online. I was particularly struck by the fact that the same company (Hobson's) runs CC and processes the data for Naviance and the Common App. That integration is both the promise and peril of the increasing corporatization of the admissions process, and college administration in general.</p>
