I'm applying to Pomona as well as a few other schools after getting deferred, and it's been surprisingly difficult!! The latest issue is the GC supplement. I had to beg my GC to send out my transcript to the last batch of schools before the winter break, but I had no idea that Pomona required a special GC thing. I just told him to send a common app GC form because he already had one of those on file for me. School doesn't go back until the 5th, and Pomona seems really strict about their deadlines. What should I do???

I have a similar problem in that I decided to apply EDII without realizing that the form required a counselor's signature...

No suggestions here, just sympathy.

I have the EXACT same problem as princessbell rofl..except my school doesn't get back until the 13th. I tried emailing my GC but I doubt she checks her school email during break...

I'm wondering how she's allowed to take a break..this is one of the most important parts of app season. (Although yes, this dilemma is completely my fault).

Call Pomona. My d didn't get hers in because school was cancelled due to weather the last week before break, and they told her to get it in ASAP after break. Good luck.

My school has a special form that the Guidance counselors fill out that has all of the information that is on the Pomona GC form. Do you think that it is a big deal? All of the information is given to them just not on the official form.

pomona is lame with all the little differences between the norm app process and theirs. i think they expect this and that they won't care too much. they already have a lot of work. sending in a form that has almost no information won't matter much.

I think the form is important to Pomona, so try to get it in as soon as you are able to. My son's high school routinely ignores the common app teacher recommendation form, providing a letter instead, and the colleges have never objected as far as I know. But the same high school is diligent about using the Pomona form for the GC report, so I assume it matters.
