is that deadline the recieved by or the postmarked? cuz im on spring break. i got it the thursday i got out for spring break, and i go back the monday before its due. and im going to be at the beach almost the entire time. all of this equals an epic fail, in case anyone was wondering.

can I just say study abroad? or do I need to think of some sort of "research" I can do while studying abroad? I want to become fluent in Spanish so I'd like to go to a Spanish-speaking country but that's basically it.

idk what UR wants me to say really

^^^nice to see some Yale hopefulls on the Rochester boards!

(counting down the days to rejection)

^Shhh, don't let Rochester find out we applied to Yale!

:D ha......

Did you notice it is due March 25th and finalist are decided by April 1st. Yikes. How is everybody else doing. If I mail it tomorrow should I mail it express to get there by the 25th. I'm, in the Boston area. I'm gonna be late!!

yeahhh....i am mailing it tomorrow too

mines dumb :(

oh well

Does anyone know what kinds of things are common with the PRG? More specifically with respect to Math and/or Physics? I'm thinking I'd like to do something related to Calculus in some way, but I don't know that using one to learn partial differential equations stuff would be normal. I've completed Calculus 3 (though I'll probably take it again) and I'm currently also learning Complex Analysis with my Calc 3 teacher as an advisor for Independent Study. Also am taking Linear Algebra, for some background on my math abilities.

Also, I won't be able to talk to any of my teachers till after Spring Break, so is the deadline based on the postage date, like with admissions? I e-mailed the person who invited me to apply, though I haven't gotten a response back yet. Oh, and the invitation to apply has March 30 as my deadline as opposed to the March 25 deadline that I have seen.

Thanks for the help.

^^Interesting dates, I express mailed mine yesterday and my proposal was pretty general (physics related). Mine said the finalists would be decided on April 1st. The dates are really tight. Are you sure about the 30th because they even have the application on line with the March 25th date. They may very well consider it if it is late so get it in ASAP. There was a phone number too, I don't have it by me now do you want me to look for it and get back to you?

I have that phone number I believe, and the person hasn't e-mailed me back, so I'll call that a littler later today. I'm sure about the 30th, but I can't really get it in ASAP since it's not possible for me to even get a teacher's signature.

i think the 30th was for admitted students admitted in the 2nd round. also, apparently the 25th is the postmarked date. i feel like that should mean we all get the prg! cuz forrealz, thats like 6 days to decide. also, i ended up emailing mine to him (scanned it and emailed the images) cuz our mail is sketch here, and he was like "actually, this is fine. dont worry about mailing it!" but i mailed it, just in case =)

email? Darn, I wish I thought of that - I bet they will be flexable with the date.

lol. So does anyone know how rochester plans on contacting us about whether they plan on giving us the grant, or not?

If your PRG is funded, you'll get a letter in the mail informing you of the fact. IIRC, last year the letters arrived around mid-April.

I'm worried because on the application, it says they will notify us by April 1. I haven't recieved any news, good or bad, so I'm assuming I still have a chance? Has anyone heard back yet?

I had this idea that the letter would magically appear in my mailbox on April 1. This hasn't happened.
