my portal has completely changed. for nyu, if your financial aid changed to “2013-2014 academic year” you knew you got in. but if it didnt change, you knew you were rejected. does anyone know if this goes for bu too? my financial aid status changed to “2013-2014 academic year”

Was that a change? I haven’t ever checked the Financial Aid page, but that’s what I have too.

That’d be great, seeing as my NYU status hasn’t changed yet :c

I just had my Tisch interview though so that’s probably why.

There’s a whole thread on this. I think it does mean you’re accepted. Mine hasn’t changed, and I think my transcript was incomplete.

Awww, Maxy! I’m sorry. Best of luck anyhow; maybe they just haven’t changed it for everyone yet.

i was an early decision 2 applicant. so it could be different for you!

@surrrr what does it specifically say? For the financial aid status?

2013/2014 Academic Year

We have no record of any documents submitted in support of a financial aid application for you.

Please allow up to 4 weeks after submission for the FAFSA and PROFILE to be received. Our deadline applies to the date these forms are received by the processor. Please allow 10 days for any documents submitted directly to Boston University.

If you would like additional information or have specific questions about financial aid, we recommend that you visit the Financial Assistance Home Page or e-mail us.

(i did not submit a fafsa)

I have a feeling the portal change may just indicate that the application is complete and a decision was made (one way or the other). Because there were some people with really impressive stats that said their portals didn’t change, and my daughter’s portal DID change, and her stats are borderline.

Lolol dude I started a thread on this cause I was rejected nyu edii xd and I had the same issue cause my albert did not chang! go check the portal change thread its all there!

@smithmkt: You’re assuming that Boston accepts everyone that is a match or higher and nobody that is borderline or lower. Statistically, that’s not true.

Nyu == bu

^surrr…my D’s fin aid status says the same thing as your. We did not apply for fin aid and I never checked that link before to see if any page loaded. Do you recall if access to that fin aid page is fairly recent? We are trying to play the guessing game and find clues that will help us determine if she is in or out when the decisions are finally announced.

There is no guessing game, lady. Gotta wait like everyone else, portal change means they’ve made a decision.

I’m not really making that assumption, its just that based on the examples I’ve seen on this forum, it doesn’t seem that the slight change in the portal wording is related to acceptance. I could be wrong, and I certainly hope my daughter does get accepted with her borderline stats!

I can’t access my son’s portal… when are decisions going to be released? It says that it has “high demand” and that is why I can’t access…

I saw a change in my financial aid status today. I’m pretty sure it has always said “2013/2014 Academic Year,” but now instead of it saying the previous longer message, it says, “Your application is complete. A decision is pending. You will be notified by mail as soon as a decision is made.”

So, does anyone else see this? Do you think it’s a good sign?

Lslove, mine doesn’t say that yet, but I do think my own message got shorter. Hm! Interesting.

Decisions are usually posted on Saturdays…so it might be this Saturday.

I’m pretty sure it just means your application is done being reviewed. However, I applied ED and the trend seemed to be that the people who had a change in wording were deferred. Not sure if it means anything this time but hopefully it’s a good sign because mine changed.

Bobb328- Was this in my response to my post? I was just curious because I didn’t see anyone mention it before in the threads. I just remember the previous financial aid message saying something along the lines of, “Once a decision is made upon your application for admission, your request for financial aid will be considered” and well…now it says that a decision for financial aid is pending! So I’m hoping it’s a good sign, too. BU is a dream.

However, I think it’s time for me to stop stalking CC, as I believe it’s driving me a bit crazy. Good luck everyone!
