Hi! I’m going to my second-round of Posse (Los Angeles). I’m really passionate about getting the scholarship. I have a 3.9 (Unweighted) GPA and taken most of the AP classes at my school. In addition, I am in the following activities.
- Robotics (4 years, captain)
- Tennis (4 years, captain)
- Yearbook ( 1 year, Editor-In-Chief)
- Junior ASB (1 year, Vice President)
- Peer College Counselor (1 year)
- VASA (Viking Athletes Soaring Academically) - (1 year, Founder)
- Boy Scouts (6 years, Eagle Scout)
- Volunteer at my local library
As someone who wants to be a leader in the Hispanic community, I have taken many positions to make a positive impact in the extracurriculars I am in. I hope to earn the Posse Scholarship to meet new people who also are prominent leaders in their school and community. However, I have one doubt to get the scholarship: my testing scores. My first and only attempt on the SAT was a 1240 and I’m going to do another attempt next weekend. I hope I can get a better score with all the practice I have been doing with Khan Academy, Princeton Review Book, etc. My ACT score is a 26, which is pretty low (Going to retake it.). Tomorrow is my interview and I’m genuinely doubtful with my standardized testing scores. My ranking for Posse schools are 1. Northwestern University 2. Dickinson College 3. UC Berkeley I hope that every other strong factor I have can compensate for the embarrassing scores I have. Since then, I have been constantly studying, hoping that my score can improve. All I ask is, what are my chances of getting the scholarship?
