Hi reader,
I have interviewed for the Posse scholarship and awaiting the confirmation for the third interview.I know the program is for people who may not always have the greatest chance of going to colleges because of limitations they have had academically or financially. I ranked Middlebury first, hoping I’ll get notified I’m a finalist. I’m really anxious to find out if I have a viable chance. During the second round interview the interviewer asked if my grades reflected who I am as a person. I would say they do, I have given it my all to get the grades I have - but I know that question is directed for people who might have not done so well in school and so it gives them a chance to explain themselves. I’m worried I might be considered overqualified seeing that I have done pretty well in my highschool and have done just as well if not better at our college partner. Posse says they don’t look at income as a factor but I can’t help but think maybe I come from too good of a neighborhood or my grades might be too high. I would consider my leadership qualities in line with what Posse wants for their posse.
I’ve been really blessed with so many amazing opportunities I’m hoping this is one of them. If I don’t get the finalist notification would I still be a good candidate for Middlebury? I’m really interested in Middlebury regardless of whether or not I get the scholarship.
Thank You

A little about me: I’m a first gen American, a member of my school’s founding class. I’m the first in my family to go to college. Also LGBT If that makes any difference. Even though my parent makes more than the average applicant the possibility of getting tuition covered would be a major help seeing there’s little money available to pay for college.
