So, I failed Differential Equations during my Spring Quarter, and although my overall GPA was 3.5 and therefore pretty safe from dropping below the 3.0 threshold, my GPA for the quarter was 1.95
Provided Differential Equations was not a pre-requisite for my admitted major (I got in on undeclared) will I be rescinded? I called admissions and was told that I couldnāt do anything but wait, and if I did get rescinded then I could appeal. Iām pretty bummed out about this as I already signed a lease for an apartment in San Diego and this was actually the first class I havenāt passed in college. The stress is killing me, so what do you guys think my probability of getting rescinded is? And is there anything that I can do other than just wait until I get the letter?
It doesnāt matter that itās not required for your major. Itās still an F on your transcript. The best case scenario is that they will send you a letter asking you to explain the grade drop and if theyāre satisfied with your answer they may put you on academic probation when you start. The worst case of course is that they rescind you.
I am in the same boat with UCSB at the moment! I notified them 10 min after I saw the āDā on my transcript in Linear Algebra. My UCSB instructed me to write a Letter of Explanation for the failed class. They revoked my admissions because my GPA dropped below a 2.0. But I challenged grades in other classes and got my grades changed, bringing my Spring quarter GPA above a 2.0. Iām hoping for the best for you tho! I need to write the best appeal I possibly can.
