Possibility(???) of my admissions being revoked? Michigan State

I have skipped my first hour 8 times this semester, and BECAUSE of that I failed 2 tests and now I have a F in pre calc.
(I got in the wrong group of friends who are lazy and don’t care about school so we would go to Dennys instead of 1st hour.) I’m usually a good student with an A/B average but still. I know I’m not going to fail when it comes to the end of the semester but if I do end up just barely passing (with a D or C) could I get my admissions revoked? This is the only class I’m worried about, physics and microbio are set and I know i’m going to get B there (the rest are general classes / electives and one advance class)

An F is grounds for a rescinded acceptance and even a D wouldn’t be too good. Does your acceptance letter state what GPA you need to maintain? You still have a lot of time in the semester. Stop skipping class and work hard on studying for your remaining exams to get your grade up to a C-.

You can’t have anything below a C. So, go see your teacher, apologize, and offer to make up the work in whatever way you can, and don’t skip anymore.

@musiclover16 Are you really ready for Michigan State? Your behavior makes me question whether you are really ready for something as difficult as the rigor of college level work combined with the freedom of managing your own time.

I don’t mean to beat you up. I am trying to make sure you understand that your parents are going to be spending tens of thousands of dollars on your education in the Fall and you are not demonstrating that you can deliver on your part of the deal. MSU may be doing you all a huge favor by rescinding your admission.

It really is time to grow up and show you are ready for next year.

Consider this a cheap lesson and try to work with your teacher to make up some of the work. High school is the last place where you might be able to do so , that is not an excuse at all in college.

What on earth were you thinking? You are potentially blowing three and a half years of hard work in HS and a great acceptance for an extra hour of sleep once in a while. Playtime is over and you absolutely need to buckle down. First I’d talk to the teacher, apologize for your stupidity and ask if there is anything you can do to help bring your final grade up to a C or so. Then get a tutor, see the teacher after school a couple of times a week, do extra problems – in short do everything possible so MI State will see at least a C as your final grade – A C isn’t great but a D or F is certainly grounds for a rescinded admission.

There are kids on the MSU wait list who are not skipping classes to go to Denny’s.
