Possibility or not?

I have just applied to Columbia as Early Decision, I consider it a great chance because only about 3000 students apply. I got a GPA of 3.8 and I think I have a very good application,I really like my essays and I have donde myriad activies in high school.I am from Mexico, so I just have take once the SAT once and I got a 1610. I know it is not a really good score, but do you think consediring my etnich background, GPA, application, the less students applying and the no ask for finacial aid can give a possibility to be accepted?
thank you for giving me your opion

A 1610, while technically above the mean, is quite honestly far too much of an adverse qualification to be a reasonably competitive candidate at Columbia. The few who are admitted with scores in the sub-1650 range are usually selected for their athletic talents. Even then it is quite uncommon. So unfortunately, your prospects of admission are quite minimal indeed.

mifune thankyou for your opion, i know i have a minimal chance but well, the hope will die in mid december i guess

No chance use your time filling out apps to colleges you can get into.

You need to work that SAT man.

Well actually, you’re from Mexico. If English is your second language, you can probably explain that as the reason as to why your SAT score is so poor. Make sure you take the TOEFL and all that fun stuff as well.

yeah my TOEFL is good i got a 110 out of 120 in the IBT. I actually do not know why i got that SAT scores because i made the one online in the college board page and i got a 2000, well that doesn’t justify my low score but i hope i can have a little chance

From your posts, no offense, your English is understandable, but grammar and spelling wise, not particularly good.

The SAT is in English. I think colleges will understand you’re ESL, and take that into account when they see your SAT score. If you can retake it and produce a few hundred points improvement, they would also see that progression.
