Hey everyone,

I am entering my junior year at DePaul University, and until recently, I had been planning on attending law school, so I was pursuing a B.A in economics with a minor in political science. I have a 4.0 GPA, pretty decent extracurriculars, and I will be working as a research assistant for a professor this semester with an economics professor (though the research deals primarily with finance). I'm also pursing independent research with another professor regarding the emerging economies, though I'm still unsure of how fruitful that will end up being.

However, my enthusiasm in law has begun to wane, and I am becoming more interested in pursuing a career in business. I'm not sure which area of business I am most interested in, but I would like to look into consulting, risk management, and the non-sales aspects of insurance. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. The summer after my junior year, I would like to apply for internships at companies like Accenture, Aon, Navigant, and within the corporate divisions of other large companies in the Chicago area.

Basically, what I want to ask is---What are some realistic career possibilities for me? Are the careers/internships that I've mentioned realistic? Would I be well-served to drop my political science minor and replace it with a finance minor, even if it would prevent me from graduating early and cost me $4,000 extra?

Thanks so much!
Ty
