Possible Colleges

Hi, so I'm a sophomore at Virginia Wesleyan College and I want to transfer.
I would like to major in Neuroscience/Psychology and go to med school.
I'm looking for some good colleges to transfer to in order to pursue this.
And suggestions?

How much higher will your GPA be? Right now it is too low to make it into med school, and with three of your likely 8 total college semester completed, you have a tough path to improve it enough to be competitive.

Why do you want to transfer (what are you looking for that you don’t have in your current school)?

This semester I’m taking Inorganic Chemistry, Psychology 2, Abnormal Psychology and Calculus 2. So, If I get an A in every class, probably a 3.2? I’m not quite sure…
I’m transferring because I would like to study the brain and concentrate on ADHD and disorders alike.
That being said, I would also like to dabble in stem cell research/ Biomedical Engineering.
My college is quite basic and only offers your basic courses. They have yet to even get a physics department set up.
Also, I’m currently working 2 jobs on campus to pay for college and I quit tennis to concentrate on academics.
I’m looking for a real course load that interest me and a student body full of students that would also like to explore the many facets of Science as a whole.
And with a interested student body, the resources for research opportunities become available.

This college isn’t a good place to prepare for medical school. Its mainly for athletics and marine Biology. On-top of that, the workload is hardly existent.

Well… a 2.9 GPA does not indicate a “hardly existent” workload. Just saying…

So it sounds like finances are an issue. You need to come out of undergrad with a minimum of debt if you plan to attend medical school. What is your state of residence (where did you go to high school/where do your parents live)? My advice would be to look at transferring to an in-state university.

I don’t do very well when my course load is light. Its a problem of my own.
This school is way to expensive and I definitely want to go to medical school with the least amount of debt. I went to high school in Va.
Do you think Vt would be a good match?
I was thinking…
UMW
VT
UVA(very unlikely)
JMU
GMU
Drexel

Can anyone give me chances? And possibly some advice?
