Please read my stats and candidly evaluate my chances! Thank you!

So hard to evaluate without the SAT.

a little bit of a reach unless u get almost all A's your junior year

actually looking at your EC yah i think you have a chance. Colleges love that stuff

Really, its hard to give any advise with only two year of grades. In the end, its junior year grades and first semester/quarter senior grades that matter the most. Your freshman grades are less important. You have URM status; but you need more A's this next year. And we do need to see the SAT scores.

There's no reason to post a gazillion threads with the same question on this board. One is enough...just bump.

don't think that having good extracurriculars is more importants than grades, you go to college to STUDY!!!!

You have mostly Bs. Do not apply to ivy leagues because of your low grades...

yah i think your grades are a little low for the ivy leagues even though your EC's are great... maybe tufts though

Why arent you doing the IB program? it'll look better in ur transcript b/c of urm status and the rigor of the IB program.

i changed schools after freshman year to a school that doesnt have an IB program

Oistrakh... That was a very discouraging message and I won't let it upset me.. I will be applying despite your advice... People with lower grades than mine have gotten in

well if you're competing with the best students in the nations who get all As and go to academic decathlons and are national merit scholars, its hard to get accepted if you have mostly Bs

sorry but I don't think if you have B's you will get in... the only way I can see you having a chance at the ivy leagues is if you get A's your junior year. I think you will also need to have really really good SAT scores to make up for your grades. Sorry but im just trying to be realistic. However, i think you should try and your EC are very admirable. Really focus on your essay also.

Just do your best, and if you get a good SAT score, you have a good chance

i believe u have a very good chance if u work hard for the next two years on your grades (rising trend) and get good SAT I and II scores im sure alot of the people who have posted here would love to have ur ec's just make sure the same sort of passion and enthusiasm you put towards those ec's come out in ur essays......if u do good next year and 12 grade year and get good sat scores u have as good of chance as anyone

predict with out SAT's

Harvard (EA)- reach
Yale- reach
Brown- reach
NYU- good
Columbia- reach
Tufts- good
Georgetown- reach/good
Princeton- reach
Cornell- good
UVA- good

how is cornell a "good" school for her??!!! Shes getting more Bs than As people!

Great extra-curriculars, but the grades are definitely lacking for some of these top schools. If you test really well and capitalize on some of your really nice extracurriculars, you might have a shot. But there are a lot of b's there for Harvard, yale, princeton, etc.

honestly, i think people are being a bit harsh here. You've got a 3.68 GPA which is not bad at all. now let's say you get, hmm (work really really hard with these) all A's except for B's. that'll give u what like a 3.85333? add those to your overall GPA and you've got yourself a 3.75! thats good child! so then youd have to focus on your SAT's and on the safe side try to get 2250+. with your URM status, awesome EC's and passionate essays i think you've got a better shot than half of the kids that apply anyway.

harvard and yale will be reaches (under 10% admittance) just because everyone else has these scores or better but i think you have a good shot at princeton. try shifting your EA to princeton. according to your extras you might be a poli science or international relations kinda person and princeton kicks booty in those (top 7 in both departments)

now, im not saying this is gonna be easy, but you've got a shot. and remember, even for kids who get perfect scores, luck will get them in. it's all about how the school sees a fit in you and you seem very diverse so that's another point for you. like these other kids, get some more safeties in, you need to have like 3 or 4. some good ones for you might be george washington, claremont mckenna, rutgers, american and UNC.

work hard and good luck! if you do this you'll get in at schools you didnt think you'd get in before

oistrakh if u have been paying attention to recent college admission trends u'll figure out that passion and good solid ec's (like she has) is starting to play more of a factor in admissions......+im sure laxgirl07 probably made her predictions based on an improved junior and senior year (my guess)

You have a lot of meritorious achievements, but those B's I fear will lessen your chances @ any of those schools that you're interested in applying to. However, focus on keeping your grades up and your EC's.

I don't think this person will get into Ivies. Unless they do extremely well on their SATS (for a URM)- GPA is too low and I think 2250 is going to be unrealistic for a person with mostly B's. I doubt the ability of your ECs to get into those colleges (HYPetc). Plus you've Bed mostly core classes. (Eng history math science).
