So, I'm having trouble deciding which courses to take Senior Year - keep the following in mind:

I currently have a 3.66 GPA which is expected to go up to a 3.73 by the end of Junior Year

My lowest grade, every quarter, is in Math, by far my weakest subject, and I maintain B's at Honors level

History is my strongest subject, and I maintain A+'s at AP level

I'm looking at universities such as Boston U. and Temple U (schools of that caliber)

So...

Option A: (All Core Subjects)
AP English Literature
AP Politics and Government
AP Statistics (Pretty difficult)
Anatomy and Physiology Honors (SUPER EASY A PLUS)
Latin IV Honors
School-To-Career
Study Hall

Option B: (No Math, 2 AP Social Sciences)
AP English Literature
AP Politics and Government
AP Psychology
Anatomy and Physiology Honors
Latin IV Honors
School-To-Career
Study Hall

Option C: (All Core Subjects, AP Science)
AP English Literature
AP Politics and Government
AP Statistics
AP Biology
Latin IV Honors
Study Hall

Option D:
AP English Literature
AP Politics and Government
AP Calculus AB (Pretty difficult, for me at least, and I probably wouldn't do too well)
Anatomy and Physiology Honors
Latin IV Honors
Study Hall
Studio Art III (I don't know. I like art, I guess.)

So, if I want a rigorous schedule while still being able to raise my GPA, what should I go with?

I would do :
AP Lit
AP Gov
Honors Anatomy
Latin IV
AP Bio/AP Stats
AP Psychology
Study Hall

Since you like Humanities over Math, you can do both Psych and Gov. You’re saying that Honors Anatomy is an easy A so I would go ahead and take AP Bio/AP Stats assuming that you might a B on one of those classes. Consider the classes that are going to be useful in your future. If you don’t want to do Math don’t take AP Calc and use that time in something else more productive (:

^OP is saying that he is struggling with Math. I recommend taking Stats because Calc is going to be time consuming. Instead he can do something else.

I’ve been told by quite a few of my friends who have already taken Stats that it’s for more humanity-minded people more so than it is math-minded (despite the fact that its a math.) AP Bio is double block at our school, but 75% of the time, kids go to one period, and then they report to study hall for the second half, very rarely do people actually spend the whole two hours in Bio.

I think I’ll stick with:
AP English Lit
AP Politics and Government
AP Psychology
AP Statistics
Anatomy Honors
Latin IV Honors
Study Hall

Even though study halls don’t look all that well in terms of colleges, I think being in four AP courses shows enough rigor and dedication.

definitely go with the two AP social sciences. I’m currently a senior and I took 3 english classes this year (all half year courses) because I love it so much but I still regret not taking more. Definitely do the things you like, it will make the year more enjoyable. I’m not good at math either so I dropped down a level during my junior year (from honors to CP) and my life was so much easier. I still got into the college of m dreams (Emerson). As long as you apply yourself and show interest in whatever you want to major in in the future you’ll be fine.

I really DO NOT want to take science next year. I’m currently in AP Bio and next the logical choice would be AP Physics. I really want to take both AP Euro and AP Gov/Pol though, in addition to core classes of english, spanish and math. I’m also in a three year research class. I know that I want to study political science in college and that I definitely do not want to anything in the science field, especially anything having to do with physics.

Do you think that I have to take a science senior year? Everything else will be AP level, or at least four AP’s and two honors. I’m worried though that colleges will think I don’t have a complete schedule.

^ Don’t take AP Physics If you’re not doing anything related to Science/Engineering. GO ahead and take AP Euro and Gov. However, try to show off your passion for humanities in your college essays so that the admission officers know that you’re interested in Humanities.
