Post Acceptance

Has anyone who has been accepted recieved their housing forms, college catalog etc.?

I've received a catalog but no housing forms yet.

you do your course selection and complete a housing survey-roommate compatibility questionnaire online through an account that is created for you by bucknell. its called mybucknell and every student has his/her own account on it.

also the meal plan selection is done online through mybucknell. if you joined a res college, you'll live in either smith or mcdonnell. both are every good. smith doesn't have an elevator, mcdonnell does.

i think society and technology, social justice, global and environmental res colleges are in smith while arts and humanities are in mcdonnell.

you'll get a letter giving you your mybucknell password and login , together with a res college brochure which will invite you to join. not everybody who wants to join gets in though. there is a finite number of spots available.

since i am part of the sotech res college, i don't know the procedure for non-res college housing. but freshman dorms are all usually very nice.

after we got our acceptance letters we received our freshman stuff in the second week of may...so i'm guessing your course selection, housing, e-mail address, etc. will be sent out by the end of the week. then the fun stuff starts!

have so much fun...i'm graduating next week and am so jealous that you're just beginning there :(

Hi,

Has anyone, especially internationals, received the I-20 form and the information about housing, email...? I'm international and I've only received the catalog about courses... I'm starting to get worried...

hi I'm an international joining this year too and I just recieved my I-20 yesterday so you should get it sometime soon i guess. you can do the housing stuff online (you should have recieve another packet with information on your mybucknell ID & password, etc.)

You may want to e-mail the college if you still haven't received the ID & password because the room assignment questionnaire deadline and course registration deadline are in 3 days...

The ID and password is sent in a courier pack along with information about housing, meal plans, courses, etc. It comes after the catalog booklet. It's OK if the I-20 arrives later as you can only apply for visa June 22nd onwards... but you need to have the ID & password to log onto mybucknell in order to meet the deadlines.

OK thank you very much :D I'll email them.

Oh I have one more question: What does the 3-day deadline mean? Do they count it from the day I receive my ID & password?

And Hi classof2011! :) Have you done choosing courses and registering? I guess it must be fun!! I'm so excited to do it!

It's not a three day deadline - it's a fixed one for everyone:

Course selection: June 1st
Residence Survey: June 1st
Family Information: June 1st
Photo: June 1st

Medical Records: June 15th (post)

Meal Plan: JULY 1st

All the ones due June 1st you can do online, but you need you ID & password to do it... but I guess since you haven't gotten it, it's ok if you miss the deadlines... but call/e-mail them to let them know

Yea - choosing courses and registering is soo exciting :) I can't wait to go to Bucknell!! :D

Thanks for the details classof2011! I emailed them and they agreed to extend the deadline for me, fortunately. Phew!
