Post ed rejected stats

Wow browneyedgirl, I'm so surprised that you got deffered. That doesn't leave much hope for us others, like me.

Great recs, good (at least decent) essay.

(Browneyedgirl, you and I have a lot in common. Plus the three of us have 3.8 GPAs and two of us have 1480s... Hmm.)

i think the admissions process is so random that it doesnt matter if you have amazing grades/scores/etc...especially with ED, where brown defers 65% of its applicants. so yeah, it's annoying that we weren't accepted, but at least we have a second chance. instead of saying i was deferred, i like to look at it as, i haven't heard back yet.

Yeah, it really is a random proccess. That's a great way of looking at it though. Yay second chances! Heh.

deferred

4.09 w (school doesn't do uw and the highest w you can get is a 4.2)
4/235
from new jersey

(Note with the scores: I know they're low, even embarrassing; but I've never done well on standardized testing. Each time I get my score report back it says I omitted like 15, and I know that didn't happen b/c I double check. Something ALWAYS goes wrong. On a lighter note, my essays are always really well written and I always get high scores on them. Like for SAT II Writing I got a 11 on the essay, but sadly the multiple choice didn't work out so well)

SAT I - 630 M, 630 V
SATIIs- 640 writing, 630 Math IIc, 580 Lit

Really involved with my meditation group (Science of Spirituality). Lots of volunteer hours there.

Great recs: 1 from honors english/journalism/ap english teacher, 1 from honors alg II/trig/stats & prob teacher, 1 from my ARC boss, 1 from my Columbia University professor (personal, not the generic one you get from the program), and 1 from a popular radio persona for spirituality (James Bean)

good (at least I think it was) essay

Everyone keeps telling me that my "hook" is philosophy. I absolutely love it. I've taken classes online and written tons of essays. Many of them are published on the Esoteric Mystery School website. Philosophy is what links everything up for me. I spend all my free time curled up writing or reading philosophy and I go to every conference/lecture I can go to on philosophy or anything of that like. :)

wow I skipped a lot of that. :)

haha, yeah i know. sorry for the length. it's just in my case a lot of my stats are "blah blah not too good blah blah, BUT . .." plus, i guess it's the philosopher in me; always trying to provide some insight. :)
