Post HERE if you have NOT heard yet

What's the link to that portal? I can't find it.

I talked to couple of friends that were accepted to American last year and the year before that and are now attending American they found out at different times, and received no emails?!?!? By the way we all live in the same city. Also it looks like the people that were accepted, were accepted to the honors college. Also it seems that from last year's threads there were people that were accepted weeks after people that attend their same school! Also it seems that people started to get invited to events before they even found out they were in!

Go to the school's address and click on prospective student then click on undergraduate

I just got sent to the same prospective student site.

It didn't work for me. I think this is the method.
1. Go to the prospective student portal and log in
2. Click on "financial aid award status"
3. Look at the AU ID on the far right of the screen, write it down (CTRL C)
4. Go to https://my.american.edu/accounts
5. Click "I am a student"
6. Use the AU ID from the financial aid site, complete the form
7. ???

I repeat, this did not work for me. But that seems to be the method listed on http://admissions.american.edu/fileLibrary/What%20Happens%202-3.pdf

So those who have not gotten your letters, does this work?

Also, correct me if this is not the method you used...

Ok, so this is the process that worked for me (I haven't received a letter or email yet, applied with american app and live on the west coast)

go the prospective students portal, get AU ID

Go to http://my.american.edu/accounts (can be found at http://admissions.american.edu/fileLibrary/What%20Happens%202-3.pdf )

go to I am a Student, and fill in the form with AU ID, etc...

If you can log in, the first screen gives an AU username and email-- the question, then, is whether this means you've been accepted.

That's the same thing I did with no success. Perhaps you are IN! YAY!

it worked for me. hopefully logging into that didnt confirm i was going or anything.

I wonder if anybody doesn't have an AU ID in their financial aid section

where is the admitted student portal?

where on the site does it say I am a student?

It doesnt say anywhere. But I think they wouldnt let you sign up for an AU Email address if you werent admitted.

ahh nvm i found it and yes it worked for me, i really hope this means i got accepted!!!!

it worked for me...gave me an AU email and everything!

I hope it doesnt mean I've confirmed enrollment though.

I don't think it does...i mean...wouldn't they have to say that?

Its called the "admitted student portal," I read the terms and conditions, nowhere did it mention confirming enrollment.

okay good. I kind of tend to not read terms and conditions in the excitement of things.

wait so are we accepted? kinda hope soo

haha that is so wierd... they let us set up an email account without even being students yet? I already got an email saying that I was accepted and so I decided to try setting up an account... it worked!

I'm pretty sure that if you can set up the account then you are accepted. If you click on some of the links... specifically the housing ones.... it says "congratulations _____, on your acceptance to american university".
