Post here if your 31 or lower ACT got you in to Claremont McKenna

And if you don't mind...your unweighted GPA.

Admitted with a 31 ACT
3.259 UW GPA
4.989 W GPA

Extraordinary Essays/ Written portions of application
Above average community service.

admitted with a 29 ACT, but SATs were better…
and 3.8 GPA avg unweighted

miami gregory- can you explain to me how you got your GPA?
not in a snarky way, its just an odd contrast between UW and W

I got in with a 1930 on SAT  I think I got in for my leadership essay :)

Well, ive taken a total of 28 full courses in highscool.
8 aps
19 honors.
and two dual-enrollment classes at a local college that count as AP credit.

only recieved one C ( half year course). all the rest a’s and b’s.

Honours weight 1.0 and AP 2.0
add up the total and divide by the # of courses.

My GPA essentially reflects that ive taken a challenging course load.

And, the recalculated GPA by them was certainly higher, as i did worse in non academic courses.

hope that makes some sense to you?

Oh ok with the 2.0 weight for AP that makes sense. I’ve never heard of that. thanks for the explanation :P

accepted with a 30 act and 2070 sat

GPA: 3.9 UW 4.35 W

accepted with a 2040 SAT
GPA: 3.7 UW
Was probably my leadership essay that got me in…

31 ACT, 3.8 GPA 4.35 weighted. I.B. diploma. Highest level calc class as senior, getting A’s. Nat’l Honor Soc. leadership. Plenty of EC’s. four year cross country letter, 3 year track. From upper midwest, caucasion. Who knows about essays and recs? (maybe it was those). Or maybe they needed more racial diversity, or maybe she got bumped for a jock. Whatever.

Accepted at several schools with 20% acceptance rates. She’s taking it well, Claremont was essentially tied (on her list) with another school that accepted her. That said, the “Gatekeepers” is keeping me level headed…in that it’s not a comment on my D’s ability, or personality. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know, however, the reasons? Oh well. Wasn’t meant to be. Good luck to others at C-M. It’s a great school. You’ll love it.
See ya around campi.
