Post- Jan 28 SAT (no pun intended)

Oh gosh! For that question, I read it as adding the two sets together and and getting multiples of 5. I definitely have reading problems.

Thank you so much for explaining! =)

I said fishing

does anyone reemer any of the other vocab questions? i think in each CR section, i was confused about the last 1 or 2 vocab. but i dont rmeember what the questions weere. and bout the mozart one, wasnt it death...phenomenon?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=1743745#post1743745

I posted a list of all the hard vocab answers. if you think of anymore let me know.

it was demise...mystery for mozart btw

i put demise...mystery for the mozart one. does anyone remember the writing error id with cubism being the most influential of --- and --- (sorry can't remember the other art styles)

Merudh, can u please explain the air pollutant one? I thought it the volcano one since it said it raised the level of rainfall in OTHER CONTINENTS. For the air pollutant one, I think it also said other continents (or some other far away place), but it said it raised the level of air pollutant elsewhere, right? I picked volcano and rainfall since those 2 seemingly have nothing to do with one another - much like blackholes and the formation of new stars farther in the galaxy.

Shina Laris, as u can see, I have reading problems too. I'm beginning to think I messed up on many Writing Qs because I read too fast. I hope I remembered the wording to the 5/9 Q correctly though...And don't worry, it's just one wrong and it's a grid-in. I'm sure u'll do fine. =]

Demise was the correct answer

I said volcano for the one with the other continents.

For the math one, i read it wrong and thought it said that they are both divisible by 5 or multiples of 5 or something so i got 1/5 (mine was a multiple choice for taht)

no it said "blackholes are INTERTWINED with formation of stars" that means they are directly related at first I had air pollution then I think I might have changed it to something stupid

yes I agree...
I also put air pollutants for that one...
cuz u had to make a comparison to the one about the black hole-->star...(black hole sucks up the particles to yield lots of energy, or bright things whatever....just like that thing (can't remember what) yields lots of air pollutant particles)....

Yes, it said blackholes were intertwined with the formation of stars; however, the passage clearly stated that such a discovery was a complete surprise to scientists. This was because blackholes are submassive and would not seemingly affect the formation of stars farther in the galaxy.

But it was something makiong a difference over a long distance also... I hate ETS basically.

im an idiot i was stupid and thought "demise" wasnt the answer for the mozart one cuz i was thinknign demise meant like downfall or someting when also means death. UGH. lol

It's not air pollutants (I think) because it said nearby/adjacent land/continent. But the passage said "intertwined with formation of stars in a DISTANT galaxy"...SOMETHING like that.

It's volcano (again, I think) because they're both parallel with that far distance, otherwise really, everything else works just as nicely.

what was the "harrowing" one?

i agree, the passage said black holes weren't expected to affect anything except those in a close proximity to it. It was unexpected that stars forms so far away so... volcanoes don't seem to affect rainfall in another continent. I used the distance relationship for this one, but i guess it depends how u think.

if you get like 5 wrong on math what would your score be?

Does no one remember these 2 writing questions? They're both Sentence Error IDs.

1) Annual visiters to NYC' Central Park number far more than that of Mount Rushmore.

2) The number of people...disadvantage...far exceeds those who will benefit.

My answers:

1) I put "that of Mt. Rushmore" because it was comparing "visitors" to a singular thing?

2) I put "those" because I wasn't sure if number correlated to "those".

Thanks, Julina. =)

For the black hole question, I think it was the volcano one, although it could very well be the air pollutants one instead.

I put those for 2) also I believe now. Or I might have changed it to E... Always a tough deciison on questions like that.
