So whats it like living co-ed in college. Anybody happen to have any crazy stories?

i second this motion. im extremely curious about this as well.

its not that different, really... you have your own bathroom... there are guys and girls on the same floor... everyone just hangs out. its not really a big deal, lol.

do you have any co-ed bedroom stories?

i wish more colleges did co-ed bedrooms...ugh

no wild chicks running around? Late night adventures?

It's not really how you think it is baklava.

Co-ed dorms as in there are men and women in the same building or in the same room?

jamminjb5: I agree; it seems as if some people have rather skewed ideas of dorm living :)

Essentially a dorm is a building with many rooms. You may either live in a single or have 1 to 3 roommates. When you're not out in class, eating, recreation etc..., you'll be in your room. You probably won't see very many people in the hall as they'll only be in the hall if they're entering or leaving the building, doing laundry, getting something from the vending machine etc... Often dorms have lounges, where there may be people watching tv or studying. If you have friends in your dorm, then you may often visit their rooms.

As for co-ed bathrooms; it's really not that exciting either. There are sinks, toilets, showers, and urinals. Nobody ever sees anyone naked (not unintentionally anyway), people wear towels. People use the sinks. People use the toilets. In the end, you find out that there really isn't much point to separating bathrooms at all.

As for co-ed rooms, I haven't heard much of that, except for the college-owned apartments, where I'm assuming you'd only do it if you had a spouse/girlfriend etc... If that happened in the traditional dorms, I'd assume you would either hate or love your opposite-sex roommate(s). The issue of privacy would also be amplified, relative to a co-ed bathroom. firewalker: It isn't necessary to be given a room with a random girl to get a girlfriend. Overall, I just don't think it would work terribly well.

That's about it. Any other questions? :)

i think it's the same as living with the same sex, really. nyu dorms are all co-ed floors, and my freshman year i lived on a floor with my room and one other being female, the rest being male. the only annoying thing was that when it rained, they got together and tried to play soccer in the hallway. we had our own bathrooms in our rooms, so i don't really know how having group bathrooms for the separate sexes would work. it's not what the movies make it out to be, though.

Why would you want co-ed bedrooms. That just screams disaster.

it'd be really kinky

but every apartment in nyu has its own bathroom, so too bad i cant look forward to co-ed bathrooms:(

I don't think it would be kinky at all. Better have separate rooms on the same floor.

i think it would be though, imagine:

*wake up get out of bed and see a girl walking around in her underwear

"now THIS is what im going to college for"

What if that girl hates you. Or if she was really ugly. Or if she has a boyfriend and they are going at it all night.

stop having such distorted view about co-ed dorming. sheesh, its not that serious, nor is it as sexy and hook-up filled as you would imagine it would be (whether you have a coed room[extremely rare], bathroom[very rare], or hallway). first of all, theres always the chance that the girl(s) in your room would be in a relationship, hate you, or be really ugly so you wouldn't want to hook up with them anyways. stop daydreaming, and be happy with a coed floor if you get that. it's not that freaking amazing, so please stop being delusional.

and if all you're hoping to get out of college is seeing girls walk around in their underwear, then you have your priorities wayyyy off.

A couple random girls came to my suite in my freshman year and did a lil striptease. I leave to a friends place then I come back and realize that my roomate took them into the room to have a little fun. The girls ran outside, screaming with very little on before the head RA told them to leave.

i was joking....partially though.

syn really does have the co-ed living arrangement down pat. its really fun to get to know both guys and girls who you happen to live with, and i've definitely made some of my best friends by hanging out w/people on my floor. it took all of about 2 days to get used to walking down the hall to the bathroom in pajamas, a towel etc, and its really not a big deal as people make it out to seem.

Well, so far two couples have had sex in the bathroom stall. I know because I kept hearing banging noises and saw four legs behind those doors while I was brushing my teeth. Also, they dimmed the light.

that's just nasty. seriously, the bathroom stall? just go to your room. i'd rather not have e coli all around me while i get my freak on.

rotflmfao.
