I'll ask my guidance counselor tomorrow and see what's up.

This is kinda random, but I think it's cool to see a school on here that's getting some threads and responses that isn't Ivy-League or MIT or some super-prestigious school. It shows that there are some normal kids on here, since (let's be honest) a lot of the kids on here are complaining about their 2390 SAT and 3.99 GPA.

This is just so hard cuz I had the idea that I will be able to find out tonight but it's getting pretty late so I don't know about them sending an email today. Haha I can't take it

haha exactly, personally I am glad that I am in the running for a school like James Madison, it means I did something right my 4 years at high school, and that I didnt waste my entire high school years studying or not having fun. Im not saying those kids didnt have fun, but everyone here knows that the kids who have those grades in our school usually arent the homecoming king and queen.

so JMU sends out a packet then, because WVU sent me a little envelope saying I got in. Im not going there, because JMU and PSU are my number 1's, but hopefully I will hear tomorrow, because im staying home because I had my apendix removed saturday morning, so i have to miss school. Ill just sit by the mail box with a lawn chair and wait i guess ha

I agree with you Kwoc about the idea of being in a "name" school, as it seems like many of the kids on this forum seem to seek...but I really liked JMU for many reasons...(the atmosphere...i felt i could see myself there, it was really friendly and cool) this school deserves some good reviews...I feel like it would work for me best and my school stats seemed to be in their range....so a good fit...
I applied early so I am also waiting to hear the decision...i wish all of you guys luck

I'm not sure if JMU sends out a package, but if I see a small letter I automatically assume I got rejected/deferred. Sitting by the mailbox in a lawn chair sounds like a pretty great idea haha but maybe it's a bit too cold for that.

yeah it is your right, ill just lay on the couch on my pain medicine and sleep and hopefully that letter will be in the mailbox when the mail comes

Being a guy should help. Everyone I talk to who's currently at JMU says that the girl to guy ratio is pretty bad. I hope the admissions people are trying to fix the problem.

Hopefully that e-mail will come to my BlackBerry during school so I can either freak out during Music Theory/Anatomy/Gov./Chorus or run home in a depressed rage.

When did you get that E-mail? Maybe it means tonight? Or maybe I'm too optimistic. I'm probably a little unhealthily obsessed with JMU right now.

Well if its true that they mailed them out today..that must mean we hear tonighttt onlineee?? Or tomorrow before mail comes? Lol. I am probably overanalyzing this way too much.

Trust me, kwoc, you are not unhealthily obsessed. Well, maybe you are, but I am too hah.

I got the e-mail around 4:00. I basically drove home like a maniac to check my e-mail/JMU site.

By the way, I completley 100% agree with what you were saying about how cool it is that everyone is this pumped about a school like JMU.

I'm an out of stater, so I have a feeling I won't know until Wednesday. Until then, I'm basically going to be freaking out.

BTW, does anyone remember when filling out the JMU application, something about receiving texts about application status? I def remember something like that, and I think I got one saying I had applied. I wonder if a text will be sent with our decisions?

Me too. My parents are like "CHILL OUT" but I will do no such thing!

Thank God for having e-mail on my phone. And for living right across the street from school so I can speed home and check the mail before One-Act play rehearsal.

Yes, my parents, and EVERYONE around me thinks I need to relax. But it will not happen until I have the envelope/e-mail in my posession.

Also, trying to get some feedback, do you really believe that people who aren't completely in love with drinking can fit in at JMU? I'm not the biggest party animal around... i love going to parties and socializing but I've just never been a drinker. Do you think that's a problem?

I was just informed through e-mail from an admissions counselor that it will be through e-mail and an update, most likely before you receive the letter in the mail :)
