Post You Sat Stats!

I am applying to Hamilton RD. I have a 660M,680,W and a 730V. Also have a 700 Biology, and a 760 US History. Also have 5's in the same two subjects. School doesn't give GPA or rank but looking at the above alone am I in the ballpark?

From everything D and I were told, I'd say you were clearly in the ballpark. Good luck.

At the time of her on campus interview she had a 32 ACT, 1470/2160 SAT. She has since scored a 35 on the ACT. She will not take SAT Subject Tests.

Thanks for the repy! Sounds like your daughter is a definite in. Is she still interested in Hamilton? I liked the school very much. It was a definite match for me (except for the extreme cold:) Good luck to her where ever she applies.

Yep. She's still very interested. I don't know where she'll end up and I don't think she does either.Good luck to you, too.

I honestly wish my mother knew as much about LACs (or higher education, in general) as the mothers on CC. But then again, she probably might make my decisions for me, and I really woundn't want that.

any ideas on what exactly qualifies as a good SAT score for the new test? it's true that you can convert the scores to the old scoring, but that's probably not the best way to judge how well you did. although, when a hamilton rep came to my hs, he said that the hs class of 06 is lucky b/c the admissions officers really don't know what to make of the new test scoring. any ballpark guesses as to whats good/hamilton worthy?

I'm applying ED2....I have an 800 CR, 790 W, and 580 M
Plus a 5 on APLang and a 4 on AP Biology

I'm also applying EDII... 710W, 700CR and 600M. Hope that's good enough :)

most schools are looking at CR and M, and then V like the writing SAT II. Others aren't looking at it at all. Some are looking at CR & M more critically than V. It's really a mishmosh of different things. But yes, colleges are confused, although they still have a guide since the sections are comparable.

The other part to it is that since the SAT has turned into such a stamina test, I think that they're a little more forgiving about scores.

agreed! they are stamina tests now. My scores are pretty average though 680 680 710 and I applied reg. Hope I get in
